Rodney
Boutain
Jun 10, 1969 — Jun 5, 2026
Goodridge
Rodney Wayne Boutain, of Goodridge, Minnesota, passed away surrounded by those who loved him. He was born on June 10, 1969, in Red Lake Falls, Minnesota, to Lawrence Leroy Boutain and Evelyn Theresa (Currie) Boutain.
Rodney attended Goodridge Public School and ATVI in Thief River Falls, completing his education through the 10th grade. He was self‑employed as the owner and operator of Boutain Welding, where he took pride in his hard work and independence.
On December 11, 2025, Rodney was baptized by Pastor Kris Snyder at Goodridge Faith Lutheran Church, a meaningful milestone in his life and faith.
Rodney married the love of his life, Anissia Lynn Boutain, and together they built a family that was the center of his world. He especially cherished time spent traveling to the East Coast—particularly Woodstock, Virginia—to visit his daughter Layla, taking in the ocean and surrounding sights that brought him joy. Rodney also loved fishing and boating, enjoying the peace of the water whenever he could with his brother Darwin.
Rodney will be remembered for his dedication to his family, his strong work ethic, and his quiet but steady presence in the lives of those who knew him.
He is lovingly survived by his wife, Anissia; his daughters Megan Redden, Layla Jenkins, and Brookelynn (Lee Redden); and his treasured grandchildren Abby, Sophia, Isabelle, Josephine, Gracelyn, Thea, Wyatt, BayLeigh, Bryson, Joseph, Amelia, Valencia, Asher, and Elaina.
He is also survived by his mother, Evelyn Boutain; his siblings Darwin (Dena) Boutain, Jennie (Sean) Riesen, Cherie Stratton, and Diana Nelson; and his mother‑in‑law, Bonnie Brown and many nieces and nephews, and his special dog Jazzy.
Rodney was preceded in death by grandson Jackson Brown, his father, Lawrence Boutain; his brothers, Darryl Boutain and Randy Currie; brother-in-law, Chester (Sonny) Stratton and his father‑in‑law, Jerald Brown and lifelong friend Danny Cullen.
Rodney’s memory will live on in the hearts of his family and friends, who will forever cherish the moments they shared with him.
