Rodney Twistol, Thief River Falls, MN, age 85, passed away suddenly Thursday, November 8, 2018 at his residence in Thief River Fall, MN.

Funeral Service will be held 2:00 PM Monday, November 12, 2018 at the Evangelical Free Church in Thief River Falls with Reverend Steve Anderson Officiating. Burial will be held at Greenwood Cemetery in Thief River Falls, MN.

Visitation will be held on Sunday 5 - 7 PM with a 7:00 PM prayer service at the Evangelical Free Church and also on  Monday, one hour prior to the service at the Evangelical Free Church.

Rodney LeRoy Twistol was born July 17, 1933 at Greenbush, MN son of Oliver and Amy (Jacobson) Twistol. He was baptized at Eidsvold Lutheran Church at Halma, MN and confirmed at Grace Lutheran Church in Hallock, MN.  He grew up in Hallock and moved to Lancaster where he graduated from High School in 1952.

On August 21, 1954 Rodney was united in marriage to Arlyce Oswald at Zion Lutheran Church in Thief River Falls, MN. To this union 4 children were born; Renae, Randy, Renelle and Raelynn. The couple made their home and raised their family in Thief River Falls. Rodney went to work at Land O' Lakes/ Bridgeman in 1952 and worked there until his retirement in January 1996.

Rodney's hobbies included hunting, snowmobiling, fishing and woodworking. He was a practical joker with a great sense of humor.  If he could make you laugh, it would make his day.  The family table was the gathering place for many activities.  These included family meals, a good game of cards, repairing snowmobile carburetors and even cutting up venison…bless Mom's heart!  He enjoyed spending time at the farm, taking things apart, telling tales of days gone by, but at the center of everything was the time he spent with family.

Following retirement, he loved traveling with the love of his life.  They looked forward to their annual trips which included Hostfest, Branson, and cruises.

Rodney is survived by his children Renae (John) Carlson, Randy (Mary) Twistol, Renelle (Bob) Fenno and Raelynn (Darrin) Abernathey; grandchildren Luke (Jenna) Carlson, Andrew Rodney (Cece) Carlson, Zach (Eddie) Fenno, Alexis Fenno, Andrea Fenno, Brooke Abernathey, Brady Abernathey, Francine (Adam) Tunseth and Samuel LeRoy Twistol; great-grandchildren Beckley Carlson, Odin Carlson, Hazel Tunseth, Harvey Tunseth, and Baby Tunseth due in June; niece Jennifer Winget; nephews Jeff Blid and Scott Kjellberg; sister-in-law Ardelle Parker; and many other family and friends.

He is preceded in death by his wife Arlyce in 2015, parents, sister Irene Blid and niece Stacy Kjellberg-Wightman.
