Roger Hible, a beloved husband, father, brother, and friend, passed away peacefully on June 25, 2026, at Karlstad Senior Living.
Roger was born on May 22, 1943, in Thief River Falls, MN, where he lived his entire life. Roger’s life was a testament to hard work, dedication, and a genuine commitment to those around him.
Roger graduated from Lincoln High School in 1961, setting the stage for a life characterized by perseverance and a strong work ethic. Following his education, Roger embraced a diverse and productive career. He found fulfillment in farming and repairs. His professional journey also included time at Arctic Cat, and he was well known as the owner and operator of 8th Street Standard. Over the years, Roger shared his expertise and friendly service with many through his work in auto sales at Westside Motors and Thief River Ford, as well as Napa Auto Sales. After many years of hard work, Roger enjoyed a well-deserved retirement for the past 14 years.
Beyond his work, Roger was a man deeply committed to his family and friends. He is survived by his devoted wife, Sandra Hible, who stood faithfully by his side through all of life’s joys and challenges. Roger’s legacy lives on in his children, Dawn (Mike) Greil, Michele Wiggen, Tina (Brian) Hoffart, Tonya Klemetson, and Ryan (Crystal) Hible; grandchildren; great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his sister, Mary Lou (Dave) Haugen, and his brother, Ben Hible.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Lillie Mae (Carr) Hible; Anita (Walker) Hible – mother of Tina, Tonya, and Ryan.
His interests and passions extended well beyond his working life. Roger’s adventurous spirit took him hunting, fishing, and snowmobiling, often accompanied by family and friends. A true outdoorsman, he cherished Alaska fishing trips, Michigan salmon fishing excursions, and South Dakota pheasant hunts. In addition to his love for the outdoors, he was known as a talented woodworker and a reliable “fix-it man,” always available to help neighbors and friends with projects great and small.
Roger’s friendly, outgoing personality was matched only by his willingness to lend a hand. His hard-working nature was evident in every endeavor, and his caring, helpful attitude was felt by everyone he met. Roger’s affection for animals, particularly dogs, brought warmth to his home and delight to those who knew him.
Among his many proud accomplishments, Roger earned numerous trophies for snowmobile racing in the late 1960s and early 1970s, as well as for trap shooting. These achievements reflected his competitive spirit and zest for life.
Those who loved Roger will cherish the memories of “Egg Junk” breakfasts, his spirited birthday celebrations, and countless family gatherings. These moments of togetherness remain enduring testaments to the legacy he leaves behind.
A visitation for Roger Hible will be held on Thursday, July 2, 2026, from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Johnson Funeral Service Thief River Falls, located at 420 La Bree Avenue North, Thief River Falls, MN. The funeral service will follow at the same location at 11:00 AM.
