Roger Anthony Rivera Sr. passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family, October 22 ^nd 2016. He was born April 14, 1943, son of Alice and Tony Rivera. A celebration of his life will be held on Saturday October 29, at the VFW Post 2793(Horace Ave N) in Thief River Falls 12:30pm - 4:00pm.

He was raised in Bagley, and attended Bagley school. He went into the Air Force after high school and then married Shirley Olson soon after. They were married June 20 ^th , 1964. They lived in many places, and made their home in Thief River Falls, where they raised their son Roger Jr. He attended auto body school in Thief River Falls. He taught auto body at the Center School for 19 years and at Northland Community and Technical College for 11 years.

He loved every kind of fishing but especially on his house boat with his family and friends. He also had a great love for every kind of hunting and camping with the boys.

He is survived by his wife Shirley and son Roger Jr and wife Brenda, and grandchildren Austin, Chase, and Savannah. Siblings Joe (Diane), Gwen Dougherty, David (Janice), Daniel (Dawn), and Lance. Several sister-in-laws and brother-in-laws, nieces and nephews.

He is proceeded in death by his parents and 3 brother-in-laws, and one sister-in-law.
