Ronald Peterson was born December 12, 1944, son of Hilmer and Esther (Martinson) Peterson, in Hallock, MN. He was baptized into the Mission Convent Community Church. At the age of 10, Ron moved with his family to Erskine, MN. He worked on the family farm and as he grew older, he worked for Frank Neyes and other area farmers and in Milwaukee, Wisc.

He enlisted into the United States Army in 1968. On June 8, 1968, Ron was united in marriage to Jeanette Berberich in Seatte, WA. He served his country in Ft. Lewis, WA and also in Germany. He received his honorable discharge in 1970. While in the military, Ron joined the Catholic Church. Early in the 1970s, he worked as a mechanic for Thibert Chevrolet. He ran the Standard Station in Brooks, MN. For 25 years he worked for Oklee School District as a mechanic and bus driver. He also farmed. Jeanette died May 17, 1989. On October 22, 1999, Ron joined Ann Hince in Marriage at Oklee, MN. In 2001, Ron started his own scrap iron company, which he called Rons Recycle and was active in the company until his death.

Ron was a member of St. Francis Xavier Church, Oklee and a member of the Plummer American Legion. He was a devoted family man and loving grandfather. He also enjoyed hunting, fishing and watching Westerns on TV. He also liked playing cards and games. Rons favorite quote was, Hardly Matters ! Ron had a very easy going personality.

Ronald is survived by wife, Ann, Brooks, MN; 6 children, Doug (Janeen) Peterson and daughter, Lauren, Prior Lake, MN, Jamie (Wendy) Peterson, son, Derek and daughter Leah, Oklee, MN, Brian (Alette) Peterson, son, Alex and daughter, Marin, Oklee, MN, Michael Peterson, Oklee, MN, Tracy (Kurt) Sundquist, daughters, Michelle and Erin, Oklee, MN and Troy Peterson, Karlstad, MN; 2 step-children, Pamela Dack, son Tyler, Bloomington, MN and Troy Meyer, sons, Bryan and Jeffrey, Kindred, ND; 5 brothers and sisters, Dennis Peterson, Hallock, MN, Ardyce Levenhagen, Lake Bronson, MN, Arlene Dorr, Erskine, MN, Lois (Herb) Johanneck, Red Lake Falls, MN and Lowell Peterson, Erskine, MN; many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

Preceded in death by his parents, grandparents, Hjalmer and Anna Peterson and Isak and Ida Martinson, first wife Jeanette and second wife Carol Bright; father-in-law, Fredric Berberich, brothers-in-law, Charles Levenhagen, John Dorr, Roger Berberich, Jerome Berberich, sister in law Jackie Berberich, and nephew Tom Gagner.

Ronald Peterson died on Thursday, January 19, 2006 at Northwest Medical Center, Thief River Falls, MN at the age of 61 years, 1 month and 7 days. May his memory be blessed.
