Rose Boucher, 92, died on Sunday, December 25, 2011 at Essentia Health in Fosston, MN. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11:00 A.M. on Friday, December 30, 2011 at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Oklee, MN with Father Chuck Huck presiding. Burial will be in St. Francis Xavier Catholic Cemetery in Oklee. Visitation will be from 5:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. on Thursday, December 29, 2011 at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Oklee with a 7:00 P.M. Prayer Service on Thursday evening. Visitation will also be one hour prior to the service on Friday at the church. Rose Robidoux was born on September 15, 1919 in Brooks, MN, the daughter of Napoleon and Laura (Fournier) Robidoux. She attended Turgeon School, graduating from 8th grade in Brooks. Following her schooling she stayed at home and helped raise her siblings. Rose was united in marriage to Norman Armand Boucher on August 5, 1941 at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Brooks, MN by Father Proulx. Following their marriage they lived on the family farm near Oklee, farming and raising their family until 1974, when their son, Kenneth purchased the farm and continued the heritage. Rose listed her occupation as loving housewife, mother, and grandmother - until in the early 1960's, when she added to that by working as a waitress and cook at the Corner Café, which later became the Arcady Inn Restaurant in Oklee. She remained there for many years. In 1974, when they moved into Oklee, she worked as a cook at the Oklee School, and also catered weddings in local area for many years. Rose and Norman loved to travel, so after retiring they visited Washington State and Washington DC, Florida, Branson, MO, Colorado, Arizona, St. Anne DeBopray in Canada, plus many other sites and cities in Canada, Nashville, TN, Grand Old Opera, North Dakota, South Dakota and Wisconsin. She loved her life, her husband, Norman, her family, friends and country. Rose enjoyed family get-togethers, and attended family reunions every year until 2001. She also enjoyed sewing, quilting, reading, embroidering, walks, gardening, cooking, baking, dancing and visiting with family and friends. Rose moved to McIntosh seven years ago. She was a member of the St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Oklee, St. Ann Society and was funeral group leader for the guild. Survivors include one son, Kenneth (Shirley) Boucher of Brooks, MN; two daughters, Barbara (William) Walker of Concordia, KS and Jackie (Neil) Carriere of Buffalo, MN; grandchildren, Shannon (Kent) Walker-Lembke, Tim Walker, Kerry (Lee) Evans, Travus (SiTi) Boucher, Trenten Boucher, Sheila (Mick) Miller, Christina (Mike) Moran, Marcella (Casey) Bodin and April Carriere; great grandchildren, Sara & Rachel Lembke, Brandon and Thalia Boucher, Mitchell Bodin, Charles Bodin, Matt (Laura) Radniecki, Tyler Miller, Ashley Miller; sisters, Alice Bluemke of Oklee, MN, Lucille Bluemke and Margaret Robidoux both of Grand Forks, ND; and many nieces and nephews. Rose is preceded in death by her husband, Norman on January 12, 2006; parents; daughter, Marcella; brothers, John, Xavier, and Robert "Jerry" Robidoux; and sister, Maria Boucher.
