Rosemary Olson, 76, died Sunday, January 6, 2008 at Villa St. Vincent in Crookston, MN.

Funeral services will be held at 1:30 PM Thursday, January 10, 2008 at St. Bernards Catholic Church in Thief River Falls, MN with Monsignor Timothy McGee presiding. Burial will follow at Greenwood Cemetery in Thief River Falls, MN.

Visitation will be held from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM with a 7:00 PM prayer service on Wednesday, January 9, 2008 at Johnson Funeral Service in Thief River Falls, MN. Visitation will also be held from 12:30 PM until the time of the funeral at church.

Rosemary Cloutier was born on June 5, 1931 the daughter of Frank and Sophia (Hoffman) Cloutier in Redtop, near Isle, MN. She was baptized and confirmed in Wahkon, MN and graduated from high school in Isle, MN in 1950.

In 1952, Rosie was united in marriage to Odean Francis Joe Olson and they had three children, Roseanne, Michael and Caroline. They resided in Isle, MN, and later the Twin Cities area before returning to Northome, MN in 1969.

In the early 1970s, Rosie moved to Thief River Falls, MN to be closer to her daughter, Roseanne. She worked at several places in the Thief River Falls area, including Hardees, Dees Kitchen, Northwest Medical Center, Northern Lights Bookstore and the Heritage Center.

In 1985, Rosie met Weldon Swede Swanson which was the start of a special relationship which lasted until the time of her death. The couple enjoyed traveling, spending time in their motor home, and they went for a ride just about every night. Her dog, Buffy was a constant companion with the couple.

Rosie enjoyed visiting with her many friends and family, playing bingo, dancing, listening to country music, and gardening. Rosie was a beautiful and deeply committed Christian person who was very dedicated to extended family and also had a very special grace for making friends. All of those relationships gave her great joy. She was fun loving, deeply caring and very generous. Her biggest enjoyments during her life were going to mass, no matter where she was.

She was a member of St. Bernards Catholic Church in Thief River Falls.

Rosie is survived by her children, Roseanne Feragen of Thief River Falls, MN, Michael Olson of Jordan, MN and Caroline (Steve) Schulte of Blaine, MN; grandchildren, Jeffrey, Darin, Davin, Sarah, Kelli Jo, Travis, and Jeanette; great-grandchildren, Alliah, MacKenzie, Quincey, and Ethan; brothers, Frank (Loretta) Cloutier, Russell (JoAnn) Cloutier and Bernard (Edna) Remer; sisters, Delores (Marv) Brettingen, Kathleen (Joe) Taddei; sister-in-law, Doris Remer; special friend, Swede Swanson of Thief River Falls, MN and his family; and many nieces and nephews as well as a host of friends, all of whom she dearly loved.

She is preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Virginia T. Cloutier and Caroline Remer; and brother, Henry Remer.
