Rosemary Pahlen, 74, died Friday November 9, 2012 at Sanford Hospital, Fargo, ND surrounded by her loving family. Funeral service will be at 1:30 P.M. on Saturday, November 17, 2012 at Johnson Funeral Service in Red Lake Falls, MN with Father Chuck Huck Officiating. Burial will be held at St. Dorothy Catholic Cemetery at Dorothy, MN in the spring. Visitation will be held on Friday 5 - 8 PM at Johnson Funeral Service in Red Lake Falls and also one hour prior to services at the funeral home on Saturday. Rosemary Wavra was born September 22, 1938 daughter of the late Clem and Mamie Wavra. She was baptized at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Red Lake Falls and confirmed at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Red Lake Falls. She attended St. Joseph Catholic School and Lafayette High School in Red Lake Falls, MN. Rosemary continued her education and the U of M in Business Education, UND and St. Joseph School of Nursing, Northland Community College and received an Associate of Applied Science Business and Paralegal degree. Rosemary was married to Merlyn Johnson for 8 years, Ted Pauling 21 years and Theodore Pahlen for 6 years. Rosemary worked at St. John's Hospital as dietary and nurses aid, was a bank teller worked in the real estate field, worked at the Scoreboard Restaurant and Lounge, co-managed the VFW in Red Lake Falls with Ted Pauling, owned and operated the Ness Café in Erskine where she took great pride working alongside her children. She also worked for Riverview Health as night computer data entry and receptionist and the Northwood Group home as caregiver she was a homemaker and great mother. She enjoyed cooking, cooking and eating and talking about cooking. She also enjoyed gardening and canning with her step-father and mother Hank and Mamie, reading, joke telling, couponing, tending to her hobby farm, sewing, costume making, some traveling and always enjoyed a good nap. Most of all she enjoyed her family and the time spent with them. She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary and the VFW Auxiliary. Rosemary is survived by her companion of 15 years Louie Schultz of Red Lake Falls, MN; children Aubrey (Eny) Johnson of Andover, MN, Merleen (Mike) Knott of Red Lake Falls, MN, Lowell (Nuvia) Johnson of Bruno, MN and Joy Schmidt of Red Lake Falls, MN: stepchildren Mike (Diane) Pauling of Eden Prairie, MN, Cheri (George) Simanovski of St. Hilaire, MN, Roxy (Jerry) Christianson of Cologne, MN, Wade Pauling of Colorado, Michelle Wherle of St. Hilaire, MN and Kim (David) Jegloski of Anoka, MN: grandchildren April, Grant, Brett, Chelsy, Kevin, Christopher, Jonathan, Armani, Gianni, Heather, Derik, Jimmy, Lisa, David, Jessica, Jennifer, Jason, Tommy, Michael, David, and Melissa; Great-grandchildren Avory, Autumn, Summer, Hailey, Aubrey. Sisters Elaine (Robert) Demarais in WI and "Bobby" Marlene Olbrantz in WI. She is preceded in death by her parents, sister "Tikie" Jeannie Altepeter and step-son Scott Pauling; step father, Hank Meyers; Brother.- in.- law Tosh Olbrantz.
