Ruben Lehrer, 86, of Red Lake Falls, MN died on Thursday, February 25, 2000 at Hillcrest Nursing Home in Red Lake Falls, MN. Arrangements with Petterson Funeral Home in Red Lake Falls.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, February 29, 2000 at 10:00 AM in St. John Lutheran Church in Red Lake Falls, MN with Reverend Curtis Brooks Officiating. Burial will be held in the Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery at Wylie, MN.

Visitation will be held on Monday, from 5 " 8 PM with a 7:30 prayer service at the Petterson Funeral Home and also one home prior to services at the church on Tuesday.

Ruben Frederick Lehrer was born on January 3, 1914 in Browns Creek Township, Red Lake County, MN son of the late William and Ida (Gerlach) Lehrer. He was baptized and confirmed at Immanuel Lutheran Church at Wylie. He attended rural school in the area. On October 20, 1936 he was united in marriage to Lucille Busse at her parents farm in Browns Creek Township, Red Lake County, MN. The couple lived and farmed his family farm in Browns Creek Township.
Ruben was a member of the St. John Lutheran Church in Red Lake Falls where he held several positions including president and elder and was active in the Mens Club. He served as treasurer of the Browns Creek Township for 36 years. Ruben enjoyed hunting, fishing, playing cards and cutting wood.
He is survived by his Wife Lucille of rural Red Lake Falls, MN: son Andrew Mike Lehrer of Thief River Falls, MN: Sister in law Marie Lehrer of Red Lake Falls, MN. Three grandchildren Mark Lehrer of Thief River Falls, MN, Brian Lehrer of Eveleth, MN and James Lehrer of Thief River Falls, MN and three great grandchildren Marissa, Kyle and Trandon all of Thief River Falls, MN. Many nieces and nephews.
Ruben is preceded in death by his parents William and Ida Lehrer and one brother Arnold Lehrer.
