Ruby L. Anderson, 85, of Thief River Falls, MN died on Sunday, March 21, 2010 at her home in Thief River Falls, MN.


Funeral service will be at 11:00 A.M. on Thursday, March 25, 2010 at Ekelund Lutheran Church, rural Goodridge, MN with Reverend Robert Dahlen officiating. Burial will be in the Ekelund Cemetery, rural Goodridge, MN.

Visitation will be from 5:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. on Wednesday, March 24, 2010 at Johnson Funeral Service in Thief River Falls, MN with a 7:00 P.M. Prayer service on Wednesday evening. Visitation will also be one hour prior to the service at the church on Thursday.

Ruby Lucille Uglem was born on April 10, 1924 to Oleander and Marie (Homme) Uglem in rural Goodridge, MN. She was baptized and confirmed at Rosendahl Lutheran Church. She attended the Lundwood School through the 8th grade and graduated from Goodridge High School in 1942.

Ruby was united in marriage to Harold Arvid Anderson on February 23, 1944. They lived on the family farm in rural Goodridge, also in Kratka Township, and they later moved to Thief River Falls. Ruby worked at Land O Lakes, Arctic Cat, Eagles Club, and did house cleaning.

Ruby loved quilting and embroidery. Her favorite pastime was talking with her friends and family. She enjoyed dancing, playing games and cards. She was a caretaker and a helping hand to many people. Ruby was a member of Ekelund Lutheran Church, the Ladies Aid, and the Eagles Club.

She is survived by one daughter Connie (Rodney) Anderson, Minnetonka, MN, 3 sons: Lynn (Lois) Anderson, Lake Park, MN, Terry (Lana) Anderson, Goodridge, MN, Dale (Susie) Anderson, Goodridge, MN, 10 grandchildren: Cheri Anderson, Lori (Tai) Bui, Kristi (Greg) Hocamp, Kari (Imon) Mobley, Scott Anderson, Tyler (Jamie) Anderson, Wyatt Anderson, Todd (Angie) Anderson, Kacey (Gary) Quam, Katie Anderson, 10 great grandchildren: Isabella & Brandon Bui, Andrew & Tenneson Hocamp, Clayton, Serena, & Maxwell Mobley, Austin Anderson, Anastasia & Melaina Anderson, one sister Arlyne (Dayton) Silk, Thief River Falls, MN, and many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

Ruby was preceded in death by her husband Harold Anderson in 1994, 2 brothers Harold and Orrin Uglem, sister June Nelson, and special friend John Sikorski on January 31, 2010.

Memorials are preferred to the Ekelund Lutheran Church.
