Ruby Engelsrud, 83, died on Tuesday, April 1, 2003 at the CNC Unit of Northwest Medical Center, Thief River Falls, MN.

Funeral service will be 10:30 AM, Saturday, April 5, 2003 at Westaker Free Lutheran Church, Newfolden, MN with Reverend Philip Rokke officiating. Burial will be at Bethania Cemetery, Marsh Grove Township, Marshall County, MN.

Visitation will be 5 " 8 PM, Friday, April 4, 2003 at the Johnson Green Funeral Home, Thief River Falls, MN, with a 7 PM prayer service and for one hour prior to services at the church on Saturday.

Ruby Windahl Engelsrud was born May 5, 1919 in Argyle, MN to the late John and Julia (Elseth) Windahl. She was baptized and confirmed in the Christian Faith. After the death of her mother, Ruby stayed with relatives and was raised by her Aunt Hilma Stolaas. She attended school in Argyle and Newfolden and worked in her aunts Caf until she married.

On June 18, 1938, she was united in marriage to Conrad Engelsrud in Newfolden, MN. They made their home and raised their children on the family farm in Marsh Grove Township, Marshall County, MN.

Ruby was a member of the Bethania Free Lutheran Church of rural Newfolden, where she was active in the Ladies Aid, Sunday School and Trumpet of Truth Radio program. She was employed at Roses Caf and the Land O Lakes Turkey Plant before her retirement. She enjoyed her family, friends, music, flowers, pets and her hobby, baking cookies for the Newfolden Co-op Oil.

She is survived by a daughter, Eunice Liedberg and husband, Rodney, Newfolden, MN; 5 grandchildren, Michelle (Tim) Prestebak, Goodridge, MN, Shaun Engelsrud, Moorhead, MN, Tiffany (Chad) Frazer, Ft. Lewis, WA, Jerad Liedberg, Fargo, ND and Kelly Liedberg, Newfolden, MN; son-in-law, Leslie Folden, Newfolden, MN; 5 great grandchildren, Adelle, Adrian and Alan Prestebak, Goodridge, MN, Samantha and Shelby Frazer, Ft. Lewis, WA; nieces, Janette Weber, Newfolden, MN, Betty Amiot, Vernice Nelson and nephew, Dennis Bakke all Thief River Falls, MN.

Preceded in death by husband, Conrad in 1974, daughter, Beverly Folden in 1996, son, Donald in 1983, granddaughter, Donelle Folden in 1988, parents, sisters, Alice Erickson and Hazel Windahl, brother, Clayton Windahl and sister-in-law, Clara Bakke.
