Obituary

Ruby Adell Langlie, age 90, was born October 18, 1928 to Albert and Lillian (Knaack) Busse in Crookston MN. She was baptized November 4, 1928 and confirmed August 31, 1941 in Immanuel Lutheran Church, Wylie MN.  She first attended grade school in a one room country school house and went on to graduate from Lafayette High School in 1945, in Red Lake Falls MN.

Ruby married Howard Langlie, son of Hans and Thora (Moe) Langlie, July 14, 1948. They celebrated 60 years of marriage in 2008.

She spent 48 years attending nursing school and working as an LPN at Northwestern Hospital in Thief River Falls. Most of this time was spent working in the OB department taking care of new born babies and their mothers. Ruby often ran into these mothers over the years and they would always fondly remember her help with their babies.

As a member of St John's Lutheran Church, Ruby was active in the choir, played hand bells, and taught Sunday School along with participating in Ladies Aid and Circle.

Ruby had boundless energy.  She was a gardener making jams and pickles, a baker making breads, goodies and her special lefsa. She also enjoyed knitting, crocheting, sewing, reading, playing piano, and even found time to play on a curling team.

Her family meant everything to her and she was proud of her 6 children: Lynette (Barry) Johnson, Detroit Lakes MN, Roxanne (Tom) Nepper, Maple Grove MN, Cindy (Glenn) Fjelsted, Ham Lake MN, Jeffrey (Mary Jo) Langlie, Thief River Falls MN, Scott Langlie, Thief River Falls MN, Rick (Dawn) Langlie, Andover MN; 12 Grandchildren: Chad (Virginia) Johnson, Terry (Patti) Johnson, Casey (Melanie) Nepper, Taylor (Hali) Nepper, Nathan Melek, Brandon Langlie, Cainan (Shayla) Langlie, Shanon Langlie,  Joshua (Tracy) Langlie, Samantha Langlie, Alex Langlie, Sierra Langlie; 9 Great-grandchildren: Zachary Johnson, Haley Johnson, Lynsey (Logan) Dillinger, Gracie Johnson, Tucker Johnson, Jaedyn Berg, Saige Langlie, Abel Langlie, Maverick Langlie

Ruby is survived by her immediate family and her brother, Norman (Shirley) Busse.

Preceded in death by husband Howard, son Scott, parents Albert and Lillian Busse, and sister, Donna Emanuelson.
