Ruby Caroline Moen of Thief River Falls, MN, 89, passed away on Tuesday, January 24, 2023, at Sanford Medical Center, Thief River Falls, MN.

Funeral service will be 10 AM Monday, January 30, 2023, at Zion Lutheran Church, Thief River Falls, MN, with Reverend Kristin Ostercamp officiating.

Visitation will be from 4-6 PM with a 5:30 PM Prayer Service Sunday, January 29, 2023, at Johnson Funeral Service, Thief River Falls, MN.

Burial will be at Folden Cemetery, rural Newfolden, MN, following lunch.

Ruby Caroline Johnson was born October 18, 1933, on the Johnson Farm at Holt, MN, the daughter of John O. and Olga (Reierson) Johnson.  She was baptized and confirmed at Holt Lutheran Church, Holt, MN.

On June 7, 1952, Ruby was united in marriage to Loren A. Moen at Holt, MN.  Ruby stated that she and Loren had 58 ½ years of happiness together.  She said he was a kind, hard-working husband, and they had many good friends along with both of their big families.

Ruby was a housewife and loved cooking, baking, sewing, and entertaining people from around the country.  Her Husband, Loren, was service manager for Steiger Tractor in Fargo, ND, for many years; and so he and Ruby entertained people who worked under Loren from many countries, including South America and Australia. They moved to Thief River Falls in the mid 1980's.

Ruby and Loren were not privileged to have children of their own, but they loved their nephews and nieces and enjoyed watching them grow.  They would come to stay with Ruby and Loren, and much fun was had. In their younger years, Ruby and Loren enjoyed traveling, fishing, camping, playing cards and garbage can "cook-outs".

Ruby is survived by too many relatives to list in this obituary.

Preceded in death by husband Loren on December 4, 2010; parents, twin brother, Russell, brothers: Morris, Lester, Ralph, Lyle, Vernon, and infant brother Oliver; and sisters, Viola Inman, Angie Swenson, Jules Ferminich, and Lyla Johnson.
