Ruby Anne Moen was born on January 31, 1955 in Karlstad, MN, the daughter of Stanley and Stella (Lamb) Moen. Ruby was named by her father for her beautiful red hair that resembled the gem that she was and always will be. She was raised in Havre, MT, and attended school there as well. In her heart, Montana was home. While growing up there she enjoyed her summers with her family at Beaver Creek swimming, fishing, and camping. She developed many lifelong friendships in Montana that were still very special to her.
In the Spring of 1976 Ruby and her daughter, Christine moved to Middle River, MN. She helped care for her uncle and worked for several years at Land O' Lakes in Thief River Falls. Ruby worked for many years at Northwest Medical Center. In November of 2011 Ruby began her career as a Manager of the OTC Pharmacy Department at Walmart in Thief River Falls until she retired in November of 2019. While she was employed there she received Manager of the Year and other various accolades.
Ruby was a member of the Middle River Horse Club and the American Legion Auxiliary. Ruby loved being around people, exercising her charisma and lending a hand to the community. Her spirit was as red as her hair and lit fires around her within others. Although she was a hard worker, she always made time for family and friends and made every second count. She adored her three bear cubs (grandson's) and devoted a large portion of her life to them. Some of her favorite pastimes included fishing, camping, thrift shopping, rummage sales, and most importantly gitn r' done!
Ruby imprinted her independency, work ethic, strong will, and love into her children and grandchildren and through that her spirit will live on forever.
Ruby is survived by her children, Christine Moen of Bagley, MN, and Justin Moen (Ashley Bellanger) of Clearbrook, MN; grandsons, Tyran Jones of Thief River Falls, MN, Hunter Spears of Clearbrook, MN, and Hayden Spears of Bagley, MN; great-grandson, Jaylen Jones of Thief River Falls, MN; siblings, Dolly (Elmer) Rasmussen of Middle River, MN, Art (Diane) Moen of Middle River, MN, Darlene (Delwin) Johnson of Middle River, MN, and Wade Moen of Havre, MT; aunts, Etta Erickson of Greenbush, MN, and Ruthie (Mark) Cole; and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, cousins, relatives, and friends.
