Obituary

Ruby Ramsey Vagle, 92, died on Thursday, October 29, 2009 at Good Shepherd Nursing Home in Sauk Rapids, MN.

Funeral Service will be 2:00 P.M. on Monday, November 2, 2009 at Johnson Funeral Service in Thief River Falls, MN with Reverend Greg Schram officiating. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery, Thief River Falls, MN.

Visitation will be one hour prior to the service on Monday at Johnson Funeral Service.

Ruby Marie McEnelly was born on December 29, 1916 to John and Clara (Halvorson) McEnelly in Goodridge, MN the youngest of 7 children. She was raised in Goodridge and graduated from High School there in 1934.

Ruby was united in marriage to Selmer J. Ramsey in September of 1937, and they made their home on a farm in rural Goodridge. Ruby worked at Northwestern Hospital in Thief River Falls in the dietary department for many years. Selmer and Ruby moved to Thief River Falls in the mid 1960s. Selmer died in 1978.

Ruby married Grant Vagle in March of 1992 and they lived in Thief River Falls. He died in 1998. Ruby moved to the nursing home in Sauk Rapids in 2005 to be nearer her daughter.

Ruby was a great seamstress. She sewed her childrens clothing, prom dresses for her granddaughter, and doll clothes. She crocheted and did a lot of quilting. She also was a cake decorator and made many cakes for her daughter and grandchildren. She loved to bake and cook and you never left her house hungry. The loves of her life were her two grandchildren, Jeff and Kristen. She was very social and loved people. In her retirement years she was active at the Heritage Center in Thief River Falls. She was active in her church and helped out with the womens groups.

She is survived by her daughter Jean Lane, of Sartell, MN, 2 grandchildren: Jeff (Kristi) Lane, of Thief River Falls, MN, and Kristen Lane of Minneapolis, MN, 2 great grandchildren Bailey and Parker Lane.

She was preceded in death by her husbands, parents, 1 granddaughter Leanne Lane, 4 brothers: Guy, Roy, Oliver, and Clair McEnelly, and 2 sisters: Cora Bakke and Lela Kallberg.
