Ruby Fern Torgrimson, 93, died at Havenwood Nursing Home in Bemidji, MN. on Friday, January 16, 2009.

Ruby was born on August 27, 1915 in New Solum Township, Marshall County to Arthur O. and Kerrie Thompson. She graduated from Lincoln High School in 1933. Ruby was united in marriage to Gust Torgrimson on January 25, 1935 in Thief River Falls. They farmed in Moylan Township until 1969. They moved to Brooks, MN for 10 years and became very active in square dancing and country western music. Later they moved back to Moylan Township. After Gusts death in March of 1991, Ruby moved to Thief River Falls. She continued to enjoy country western music and spent many week-long stays in Branson, Missouri with her son-in-laws family. In August of 2007 Ruby moved to Bemidji to be closer to her family.

Ruby is survived by 5 grandchildren, Mark (Emily) Munyer of Bemidji, MN, Dr. Paul (Sharon) Munyer of Kansas City, KS, Douglas (Susie) Munyer of West Fargo, ND, Tracey Munyer of Red Wing, MN, and Jodi (David) Rylance of Kansas City, MO; six great-granddaughters; one great-grandson; and many nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Gust; daughter Beverly Ann Munyer; three brothers, Clayton Thompson, Arthur Thompson, and Ben Thompson; three sisters, Gladys Becker, Esther Alby, and Mae Alby.
