Ruby Mae Kompelien was born April 20, 1928 at Pine Creek, MN, the daughter of Oluf and Anna Knutson) Kompelien. She was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran Faith at Pine Creek, MN. Ruby grew up on the family farm and as a young girl she would ski to school with her siblings in Pine Creek and would often tell the stories of their adventures. She later graduated from Roseau High School.

She was united in marriage to Gaynard Warnecke, July 10, 1950 – sixty six years later, to the day, Ruby and Gaynard were reunited in Heaven. She met Gaynard while working at the Red Owl lunch counter and was working at Sears until their only child Carole Lynn Warnecke Beedy was born.

Friends and neighbors would gather around Ruby's kitchen table to drink coffee and visit daily. Ruby could fix anything, sew anything, and heal anything. She loved baking lefse with her sister, Amy, camping and fishing, and painting woodwork that Gaynard made. She loved all animals – especially dogs. Ruby was the guardian angel for all the strays in her neighborhood.

Ruby is survived by her loving daughter, Carole (Gordy DeLap) Beedy of Thief River Falls, MN; former son-in-law, Mike Beedy of Thief River Falls, MN; brother, Donnie Kompelien of Embarrass, MN; her beloved dog, Bailey; several nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives, and friends.
