Rudolph Rudy Martinson, 79, passed away Wednesday, July 17, 2002 at Altru Hospital, Grand Forks, ND.

Funeral services will be 2:00 PM, Saturday, July 20, 2002 at the Johnson-Green Funeral Home, Thief River Falls, MN with Reverend Wes Langaas officiating. Burial will be at Landstad Cemetery, Sanders Township, Pennington County, MN.

Visitation will be 9 AM " 2 PM, Saturday, July 20, 2002, at the Johnson-Green Funeral Home, Thief River Falls, MN.

Rudolph Martinson was born January 3, 1923, at Karlstad, MN, the son of Nels (Per) and Brita (Wikholm) Martinson. He was baptized into the Christian Faith. He grew up and attended school in Halma and Karlstad, MN.

On November 22, 1947, Rudy was united in marriage to Clarice Alida Bertilrud at Greenbush, MN. The couple farmed near Greenbush until 1962, when they moved to Sanders Township, near Thief River Falls, MN to farm. Rudy also worked at the Occupational Development Center and Arctic Cat.

Rudy enjoyed wildlife, reading and gardening. He loved visiting with his wonderful friends, neighbors and relatives, which was a joyful part of his daily life. Rudy and his wife were foster parents for 10 years.

Survivors include wife Clarice, Thief River Falls, MN; daughter, Jennifer (Greg) Bymark, Page, ND; son, Wayne (Carole), Sacramento, CA; grandson, Eric Martinson, US Navy, San Diego, CA; foster daughter, Betty (Dennis) Erickson, Warroad, MN; foster grandchildren, Chasity and Chad Erickson, Warroad, MN; sister, Lilly Nordlund, Hallock, MN and many nieces and nephews.

Preceded in death by parents, 5 sisters, Alice, Myrtle, Elsie, Bertha and an infant, and brothers, Edward, George, Woodrow, Ferdie, Harold and a brother in infancy.
