Russell Floberg, 83, died Tuesday, November 23, 2004 at Innovis Hospital, Fargo, ND.

Russell Floberg was born October 24, 1921 at Foldahl Township, Marshall County, MN, the son of Oscar and Hilda (Hanson) Floberg. He was baptized and confirmed at Mission Covenant Church, Viking, MN. He grew up and attended Woodland Country School and graduated from Warren, MN High School in 1939. Following graduation, Russell farmed the family farm with his brother Lester, the third generation of Flobergs to farm there. It was a diverse farm operation consisting primarily of small grains and dairy.

On November 27, 1957, Russell was united in marriage to Clarice Amelia Halvorson at Zion Lutheran Church, Viking. The couple made their home on the farm, where they continued to reside. In 1998, the Floberg Farm celebrated its Centennial.

He was a member of Zion Lutheran Church, Viking, where he served many years as head usher and also served on the church council. He served as a board member and assessor of Foldahl Township and served on the Woodland School Board. Russell enjoyed family, the outdoors, farming, and especially loved spending time with his children and grandchildren. He was lovingly known as the Funny Grandpa . He liked visiting with friends and neighbors and enjoyed animals, especially his dog, Casey. He appreciated traveling to Wisconsin to visit family, and after retirement enjoyed trips to the East and West Coasts.

Survived by wife, Clarice, Viking, MN; son Duane Dewey (Rosemary) Floberg, Ladysmith, WI; daughters, Diane (Tim) Waterworth, Viking, MN and Dorene (Randy) Myers, Oshkosh, WI;; 11 grandchildren, Dana, Carissa, Jenna and Joshua Floberg, Miki (Mark) Augustine, Matt (special friend, Angie Hufnagle) Waterworth, Marcus Waterworth, Katelyn, Brittany, Riley and Logan Myers; special cousin, Bonita Fulton, Thief River Falls, MN; niece, Shirley Ackerman and nephew, Richard Floberg, both of California.

Preceded in death by granddaughter, Shelby Myers; parents and brothers, Donald, Clarence and Lester.
