Ruth Peters, 82, died on Tuesday, September 26, 2006 at Oakland Park Nursing Home in Thief River Falls, MN.
Funeral service will be at 10:30 A.M. on Monday, October 2, 2006 at Faith Lutheran Church in Goodridge, MN with Reverend Bob Dahlen officiating. Burial will be in Jerusalem Cemetery, Moylan Township, Marshall County, MN.
Visitation will be from 2:00 P.M. to 5:00 P.M. on Sunday, October 1, 2006 at Johnson Funeral Service in Thief River Falls, MN with a 5:00 P.M. prayer service on Sunday afternoon and at the church for one hour prior to service on Monday.
Ruth Augusta Zinter was born on March 27, 1924 in Moylan Township, Marshall County, MN, the daughter of Herman and Ida (Gaedke) Zinter. She was baptized and confirmed in Bethel Lutheran Church in Grygla, MN and attended Country School in Moylan Township.
Ruth was united in marriage to Clarence A. Peters on May 18, 1946 in Mavie, MN. The couple lived and farmed in Moylan Township and Ruth enjoyed being a wife and mother, and raising their four children, and spending time with the grandchildren. She enjoyed sewing, quilting, gardening, embroidering, stitchery, baking, square dancing and playing cards at the Senior Center in Grygla. She also spent many hours making quilts for Lutheran World Relief.
Ruth was a member of Faith Lutheran Church, served on the Church Council, Homemakers and Ladies Aid.
Ruth is survived by her husband, Clarence of Goodridge, MN; four children: Edythe Edy (Richard) Vavrichek of Maple Grove, MN, Marvin Peters of Goodridge, MN, Galen (Jodi) Peters of Goodridge, MN and Karen (Arnold) Njaa of Wannaska, MN; grandchildren: Michelle (Mike) Shomion, Daryl Vavrichek, Jason, Wendy and LaRae Kangas, Nathan, Christopher and Chelsey Peters, Zachary, Dustin and Joshua Njaa; great grandchildren: Jonathan, Luke and Lauryn Shomion, Makenna and Bennett Vavrichek; two brothers: Carl (Opal) Zinter of Canby, MN and Herbert Zinter of Thief River Falls, MN; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; Herman and Ida Zinter; one sister, Louise Seaver and brothers: Otto Zinter, Henry Zinter and two infant brothers.
