Samuel DeJesus Cabrales, 23 of Thief River Falls, MN began his journey to the spirit world on Thursday, February 8, 2018 at his residence.

A gathering time for family and friends will be held from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM on Tuesday, February 13, 2018 at Johnson Funeral Service in Thief River Falls, MN.

Samuel DeJesus Cabrales was born on December 25, 1994 in Eagle Pass, TX the son of Samuel Jr. and Olga (Zavala) Cabrales.  He was baptized into the catholic faith at Eagle Pass.  In 2000, Samuel moved to Thief River Falls, MN with his family where he attended Challenger Elementary, Franklin Middle and Lincoln High School.

Samuel was blessed with two younger brothers, Gabriel and Aaron.  They played basketball, football, video games, rode bike, and always loved being together.   They always supported each other no matter what.

During middle school, Samuel met Briana Narvaiz.  The two became best friends and soul mates.  Together they are proud parents of their 5 year old son, Liam James, and 18 month old daughter, Leia Nicole. Samuel loved his kids…he always said he would always have a smile because he had his Briana and his kids.

During his school years, Samuel worked at the skate park.  He also worked at McDonalds, Pizza Hut, Arctic Cat, Dairy Queen, Northern Pride, CHS and most recently at Farmers Co-op.

He enjoyed fishing, street balling, dancing and especially family gatherings.  He would put family first before anything; he had a heart of gold.  Samuel had a great sense of humor, was a funny person, very talkative, caring and easy to get along with.

Survivors include his best friend/fiancé, Briana; son, Liam James; daughter, Leia Nicole; parents, Samuel Jr. and Olga Cabrales; brothers, Gabriel (Savannah) and Aaron; grandparents; Samuel & Maria Cabrales and Jose Isabel Zavala; aunts and uncles, Jose (Aurora) Zavala, David Zavala, Maria (Armando) Gonzales, Sonia (Juan) Franco, Rudy Zavala, Maricela (Martin) Jinez, Hilda (Javier) Martinez, Jacklyn Cabrales, Celeste (Johnny) Palomo, Magaly (Chad) McBroom, Ruby (Rene) Cordero; mother-in-law, Melinda Benavidez; sisters-in-law, Ashly Narvaiz and Khristine Narvaiz and her son, Aiden; brother-in-law, Robert Narvaiz; cousins, Julio, Soly, Greg, Sara, Amanda, Ileen, Juanha, Yaneli, Brandon, Leilane, Crystal, Lynn, and many other relatives and friends.

He is preceded in death by his grandma, Teodora Zavala; cousin, Nicole Barber and grandma, Elsa Narvaiz.
