Sandra Whalen, 64, died on Sunday, November 21, 2010 at Sanford Hospital in Fargo, ND.
Funeral services will be 10:30 AM, Saturday, November 27, 2010 at Zion Lutheran Church in Thief River Falls, MN with Rev. Ale Tulu officiating. Burial will follow in the Greenwood Cemetery, Thief River Falls, MN.
Visitation will be held from 5-8 PM, Friday, November 26, 2010 at Johnson Funeral Service, Thief River Falls, MN with a Prayer Service at 7:00 PM. Visitation will also be held for one hour prior to the funeral service at the church on Saturday.
Sandra Kay Lull was born on September 10, 1946 to Frank and Alma (Holten) Lull in Thief River Falls, MN. She was baptized and confirmed at Zion Lutheran Church in Thief River Falls. She attended elementary school at Washington and attended Lincoln High School in Thief River Falls. She was married to Larry Bergren and to this union two children were born, Terry and Dawn. On June 10, 1978 Sandra was united in marriage to Michael George Whalen at Zion Lutheran Church in Thief River Falls. Sandy worked at the Falls DAC in the late 1970s. She then worked at Lincoln High School in the cafeteria from 1986 to 1988. She has worked at Hugos ever since in the bakery.
Sandy enjoyed camping and fishing. She had a passion for pets, especially her cats and dogs. Her grandchildren brought her much happiness. She liked to dance and her favorite song was Blue Eyes Cryin In The Rain. She liked to sit around a campfire and bond with her friends and family. One of her pastimes was spent winning at the casino. She also liked to email and keep up with people and play games on her computer. She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church.
She is survived by her husband of 32 years Mike, one daughter Dawn (Wesley) Brinkman, Thief River Falls, MN, 5 grandchildren: Jessica (Ross) Arlt, Plummer, MN, Joshua (fiance Chelsey) Huttleston, Thief River Falls, MN, Jason, Travis, and Jacob Brinkman, 3 great grandchildren, Brittian, Ava, and Mya Arlt; one sister Vonnie (Dick) Hoglo, Thief River Falls, MN, brother Robert Love, Florida.
Sandy was preceded in death by her son Terry in 1984, parents Frank and Alma Lull, step dad Arthur Lull, sister and brother in law Karil and Duane Sevre.
