Scott Alan Maslowski was born on December 3, 1951 in Cloquet, MN to Bernard and Helen (Olson) Maslowski. He grew up in Cloquet, MN and attended school in Cloquet. He entered the US Army on May 27, 1971. He was stationed in Korea as an MP. He was Honorably Discharged on May 21, 1973. He met his future wife while stationed in Korea. He returned to the states and started the police academy in Alexandria, MN.
Scott was united in marriage to Pok Sun Soon Han on February 4, 1974 in Cloquet, MN. They made their home in Alexandria, MN while Scott was going to college. In 1976, they moved to Middle River in Marshall County for three years. He worked as a deputy sheriff in Marshall County before settling in Thief River Falls, MN in 1979. Scott worked on the Thief River Falls Police Department from 1979 until 1998. He retired early due to Parkinsons disease. Scott enjoyed working in law enforcement.
He liked to keep busy and often had side jobs around town. He was a big prankster who loved a good joke. Playing cribbage was a favorite past time. He played softball for many years. He loved spoiling children and was the uncle who always bought the coolest presents. After retiring, Scott was often seen driving his golf cart around town. He loved his dogs and all animals. He was an avid outdoorsman who loved to fish and hunt. Duck hunting had always got him excited as he loved to tell stories of lost lures, tangled lines, and the big one that got away!
Scott is survived by daughter, LuAnne (Wayne) Stang, Wahoo, NE, son Shawn (Missy) Maslowski, Thief River Falls, MN, 3 grandchildren, Darian and Deena Stang, and Jace Maslowski, 2 sisters, Barb (Ken) Souminen, Cloquet, MN, Sue (Joe) Ulsby, Esko, MN, 4 brothers, Jack (Mary) Maslowski, Esko, MN, Jim (Jan) Maslowski, Cloquet, MN, Mick (Rita) Maslowski, Gladstone, MI, Gerry (Nancy) Maslowski, Esko, MN.
He was preceded in death by his wife Pok Sun Soon Maslowski on April 3, 2008, and his parents.
Scott Maslowski, died Tuesday, September 2, 2008 at Thief River Care Center, Thief River Falls, MN at the age of 56 years, 8 months, and 30 days. May his memory be blessed.
