Obituary

Scott Stenzel, 22, died Monday, August 26, 2002 in Casselton, ND, as a result of a construction accident.

Funeral services will be 10:00 AM, Friday, August 30, 2002 at St. John Lutheran Church, Thief River Falls, MN, with Reverend Donald Kirchner officiating. Burial will be at Greenwood Cemetery in Thief River Falls, MN.

Visitation will be 4 " 8 PM, Thursday, August 29, 2002 at the Johnson Green Funeral Home, Thief River Falls, MN, with a 7 PM prayer service and for one hour prior to services at the church on Friday.

Scott Wesley Stenzel was born February 8, 1980, in Blue Earth, MN, the son of Wesley Howard and Melanie Kay (Childs) Stenzel. He was baptized at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Blue Earth on April 13, 1980 and confirmed at St. John Lutheran Church, Thief River Falls, MN on April 24, 1994. He grew up and attended Knox Elementary School, Franklin Middle School and graduated from Lincoln High School in 1998. He attended Northland Community Technical College and graduated with a degree in Architectural Design.

Scott worked as an instructor with Arctic Lites gymnastics, worked at the Times, at Concrete, Inc., in Grand Forks, ND and also worked as a painter in Grand Forks for a short time.

He was a member of St. John Lutheran Church. He was a very creative individual who loved computers, 4 wheeling, his Jeep, Minnesota Vikings and going to their games, going to the cities and spending time in the fast pace. He especially loved spending time with his friends and family.

Survivors include parents, Melanie and Wes, Thief River Falls, MN; sister, Jennifer (Steve) Kriel, Thief River Falls, MN; grandparents, Florence Childs, St. James, MN and Russell and Elaine Stenzel, Henderson, MN; aunts and uncles, David (Jill) Stenzel, Egan, MN, Audrey (Brian) Derwin, Apple Valley, MN, Julie (Ed) Depuyt, Cottage, Grove, MN, Marilyn (Tim) Norberg, Rapid City, SD, Pamela Childs, Mankato, MN; aunts, Marcia and Arnie Swanson and Denise and Rob Wolff all of Elmore, MN; 10 cousins and special friend, Krystal Hoeper.

He is preceded in death by great grandparents, Catherine and Henry Dulas, Otto and Pearl Stenzel, Henry and Maude Childs, and William and Louise Bechtel.
