Seleen L. Knutson, 87, of Thief River Falls, MN died on Saturday, October 2, 2010 at Sanford Hospital in Fargo, ND.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, October 6, 2010 at 10:30 AM in Zion Lutheran Church in Thief River Falls with Reverend Ale Tulu Officiating. Burial will be held in the Greenwood Cemetery in Thief River Falls, MN.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday 5 " 8 PM with a 7:00 PM prayer service at Johnson Funeral Service in Thief River Falls and also one hour prior to services at the church on Wednesday.

Seleen Laverne Knutson was born September 18, 1923 daughter of the late Christ and Sarah (Sigurson) Nissen at Highlanding Township, Goodridge, MN where she was raised and attended school. On June 22, 1946 she was united in marriage to Lloyd R. Knutson at Trinity Lutheran Church in Thief River Falls. The couple made their home in Thief River Falls where Seleen worked as nursing assistant at Oakland Park Nursing Home for 16 years and was a home health nurse for 7 years. Seleen was a member of the Zion Lutheran Church in Thief River Falls. She was a great baker and enjoyed ceramics but most of all her family was very important to her.

She is survived by her children Larry L. Knutson of Centuria, WI, Yvonne Ekman of Thief River Falls, MN, Arlene Johnson of Fridley, MN, Dennis Knutson of Thief River Falls, MN and Terry (Terri) Knutson of Bagley, MN; 11 grandchildren Rhonda Vincent, Robin Brua, Tammy Davidson, Sherry Brekkestran, April Knutson, Krissy Sax, Jennifer Jones, Cody Knutson, Dan Knutson, Amanda Knutson and Luke Knutson; and 18 great grandchildren; two sisters Agnes Norberg of Anoka and Lillie Homme of Centralia, WA one sister-in-law Alice Nissen of Chicasago, MN.

She is preceded in death by her husband Lloyd, children Dale Knutson, Lynn Knutson and Carol Knutson; two grandsons Shane and Eugene Knutson, and brothers Leo Nissen, Chester Nissen and two infant brothers and also sisters Helen Nissen, Annie Homme and Alverda Cease.
