Selma Haun, 88, died Saturday, December 10, 2005 at CNC Unit of Northwest Medical Center, Thief River Falls, MN

Selma Sammie Jensen was born September 11, 1917 in Mayfield Township, Pennington County, MN, the daughter of Soren and Carrie (Legvold) Jensen. She was baptized and confirmed at Ebenezer Lutheran Church. She grew up and attended grade school in rural Oklee, MN and attended Lincoln High School in Thief River Falls, MN, graduating in 1937.

In 1950, Sammie married Warrant Officer Leroy Haun, United States Army in Toyoko, Japen. She worked for the United States Federal Government in Washington, DC and Toyoko, Japan, retiring from Federal Service at San Antonio, TX in 1983 and then moved back to Thief River Falls.

Sammie was a member of Zion Lutheran Church, Thief River Falls. She enjoyed golfing and watching sports, especially the Minnesota Twins and Vikings.

Survived by sister, Clara Johnson, Thief River Falls, MN; nieces and nephew, Ruth Gilbert, Thief River Falls, MN, Kathy Carriere, Fargo, ND, Carol Maas, Minneapolis, MN, Sherman Gunderson, Minneapolis, MN and Linda Johnson, Thief River Falls, MN.

Preceded in death by husband, Leroy in 1975, an infant daughter, sister, Leola Gunderson and brothers, Osmond and Leon Jensen.
