Selmer T. Linvik 85, of South Milwaukee, WI formerly of Trail and Oklee, MN died Saturday, September 29, 2012 at Crest House in South Milwaukee, WI. Selmer Theodore Linvik was born August 27, 1927 at Trail, MN son of the late Oswald and May (Rothe) Linvik. He was raised there and attended school there. He entered the US Navy where he served a short time and was discharged for a hardship. He again entered the military service joining the US Army in 1953 and was honorable discharged in 1954. Following his discharge he worked in Minneapolis, St. Paul for a time then returned to the farm near Trail where he raised grain and cattle. Selmer moved into Oklee where he lived in the senior housing, in 1980 he moved to South Milwaukee and the past 4 years has resided at the Crest House Assisted Living in South Milwaukee. Selmer is survived by his brother Melvin (Kathy) Linvik of Cudahy, WI, and sister Bernice Byklum of Oak Creek, WI along with numerous nieces and nephews and sister-in-law Clara Linvik of Oklahoma. He is preceded in death by his parents Oswald and May Linvik, brothers and sisters Raymond Linvik, Orris Linvik, Gertrude Sunsdahl, Geneva Scuffsa, Kermit Swaleson, and Margaret Uglem.
