Sharlott Dawn Olberg, 68, of Holt, Minnesota, passed away on Sunday, September 20, 2026, as the result of injuries sustained in an automobile accident.

Sharlott was born on June 25, 1958, in Ely, Minnesota, to Theodore Oliver Thompson and Doris Harriet (Johnson) Thompson. She was raised in Babbitt, Minnesota, where she graduated from John F. Kennedy High School with the Class of 1976.

During the winter of 1976, Sharlott met the love of her life, Jeffrey Olberg, at church. The couple married just six months later on July 3, 1976, at the Assembly of God Church in Babbitt. Together they began their life in North Dakota, where they worked in road construction. Their union was blessed with three children, Braden, Brandeis, and Brittney. In 1993, the family settled in Holt, Minnesota, where they built their home and created a lifetime of cherished memories.

Sharlott was known for her strong work ethic and unwavering devotion to her family. In her early years, she worked in road construction alongside Jeff. She later served as a Certified Nursing Assistant at Elim Home and also worked at Great Glacier in Princeton, Minnesota, worked for many years in the fabric department at Ben Franklin in Thief River Falls, and eventually worked beside her husband in their family business, M & J Construction of Holt.

Sharlott found joy in sewing, tending her flowers, gardening, and preparing meals for those she loved. Jeff often said, "She was a very good cook." Above all else, Sharlott cherished her family. Her husband, children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren were the center of her world.

Sharlott was truly the backbone of her family. She created deep and lasting bonds with each member of her family and held a unique and special relationship with every one of them. Her love was steadfast, her support unwavering, and her presence a source of strength and comfort. She devoted herself wholeheartedly to those she loved, and the legacy of that love will continue for generations.

She is survived by her loving husband of 50 years, Jeff Olberg of Holt, Minnesota; her children, Braden Olberg of Newfolden, Minnesota, Brandeis Olberg of Newfolden, Minnesota, and Brittney Olberg (Ira Johnson) of Thief River Falls, Minnesota; her grandchildren, Katlin (Sam) Lemky, Jaelah King, Khyron King, Zeus Olberg, Evan (Kylie) Maurstad, Kaden Maurstad, Rainah Walker, and Samiah Walker; her great-grandchildren, Maxine, Prudence, and Lucille Lemky; her brother, Sheldon (Elda) Thompson; her sister, Sharyl (Robert Cilke) Thompson; sisters-in-law, RaChelle (Don) Foster, Roxanne (Craig) Dunrud, and Valerie (Cory) Nelson; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives, and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Ted and Doris Thompson; her father-in-law and mother-in-law, Myron and Sharron Olberg; and many beloved aunts, uncles, relatives, and friends.

Sharlott's life was defined by her love for family, her dedication to hard work, and her caring heart. She leaves behind countless treasured memories and an enduring legacy of kindness, strength, and devotion. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all who knew and loved her.

Visitation will begin at 4:00 PM with the service to celebrate Sharlott’s life at 6:00 PM on Monday, September 28, 2026 at Johnson Funeral Service in Thief River Falls, MN with Rev. Sheila Michaels officiating. A time of lunch and fellowship will follow the service. Burial will follow at Holt Cemetery.
