Obituary

Sharon Cameron, 65, of Thief River Falls, MN died on Saturday, January 29, 2011 at St. Marys Hospital in Rochester, MN.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 AM on Wednesday, February 2, 2011 at Johnson Funeral Service in Thief River Falls, MN. Burial will follow at Greenwood Cemetery in Thief River Falls, MN.

Visitation will be held from 9:00 AM until 10:30 AM on Wednesday at the funeral home.

Sharon Leigh Peterson was born on December 21, 1945 at Mercy Hospital in Thief River Falls, MN the daughter of Melford Peter and Doris Thelma (Sevre) Peterson. She was baptized and confirmed into the Lutheran faith. Sharon attended elementary school in St. Hilaire, MN and Lincoln High School in Thief River Falls graduating in 1963.

On July 30, 1966 Sharon was united in marriage to Bud Cameron in St. Hilaire, MN. To this union two sons were born, Todd and Troy. Following their marriage they lived at Red Lake Falls for a few years and in 1972 moved to Thief River Falls where they have continued to reside.

Throughout the years Sharon worked at several jobs including Johnnies Caf, Dairy Queen, Arctic Cat and at Northland Foods where she managed the bakery. In 1978, Sharon began working at K-Mart in Thief River Falls. She started her career one month before the doors opened and worked there for the next 33 years most of those years serving as Office Manager.

Sharon enjoyed oil painting, planting flowers, playing bingo, fishing, camping and especially enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren.

Survivors include her loving husband of 44 years, Bud Cameron; sons, Todd (Jessica Lundberg) Cameron and Troy Cameron; grandchildren, Dylan, Alex and Daphne Cameron; mother, Doris Thelma Peterson all of Thief River Falls; brothers, Larry (Ruth) Peterson of St. Hilaire, MN and Gary (Darlene) Peterson of Rochester, MN; and several nieces, nephews and friends.

She is preceded in death by her father, Melford.
