Shawn Balderston, 19, passed away on Friday, December 30, 2011 at RiverView Health in Crookston, MN as a result of a motor vehicle accident. Funeral services will be held 10:30 AM Friday, January 6, 2012 at Bethany Lutheran Church in Red Lake Falls, MN with Reverend Gary Graff Officiating. Burial will be held at Oakdale Cemetery in Crookston in the spring. Visitation will be held on Thursday, 5-8 PM with 7:00 PM Prayer service at Bethany Lutheran Church in Red Lake Falls, MN and also one hour prior to services at the church on Friday. Shawn Michael Balderston was born May 28, 1992 at Crookston, MN son of Mark Johnson and Veronica Balderston. Shawn was raised by his grandparents Mary and Dale Knutson. He attended school at Lafayette High School in Red Lake Falls graduating in 2010. He worked various jobs in the area, at the last was working for Gemstone Masonry of Frazee, MN. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, being on the farm, spending time with family and friends, playing Xbox and gaming systems and was very interested in history. Shawn is survived by his parents Veronica Balderston of Springfield, MN and Mark Johnson of Fisher, MN; grandparents Mary (Dale) Knutson of Red Lake Falls, MN, brother Nick Johnson of Grand Forks, ND, sister Alyssa Belange of Aurora, MN and many aunts, uncles and cousins. He is preceded in death by his grandparents and uncles.
