Sheldon Hodgson, 46, died on Monday, July 17, 2006 at Northwest Medical Center in Thief River Falls, MN.

Funeral Services will be held 10:30 AM, on Thursday, July 20, 2006 at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Plummer, MN with Rev. Jonathan Dodson officiating. Burial will follow in the Emardville Cemetery, Emardville Township, Red Lake County, MN.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday from 5-7 PM at the Immanuel Lutheran Church with a Prayer Service at 7:00 PM. Visitation will also be held for one hour prior to the services on Thursday.

Sheldon Robert Hodgson was born on February 19, 1960 at Grand Forks, ND to Leonard and Eleanor (Clemetson) Hodgson. He was baptized at United Lutheran Church in Grand Forks, ND and confirmed at Bethany Lutheran Church in Red Lake Falls, MN. He attended Lafayette High School in Red Lake Falls, MN.

Sheldon was united in marriage to Kristie Ortloff on July 19, 1980 at Redeemer Lutheran Church in Thief River Falls, MN. The couple made their home in Poplar River Township, south of Plummer. To this union three children were born, Rebecca, Jesse, and Joshua. In 1978 Sheldon started working at the American Crystal Sugar in Crookston, MN and has continued to work there as a mechanic.

Being a mechanic is something Sheldon learned from his father and has taught to his son Joshua. He liked to work on old cars and tractors, or anything that had a bolt on it at his shop on the farm! Sheldon loved to ride his Harley. He was a member of the Northwest Chapter of the A.B.A.T.E. He enjoyed going on benefit rides, and enjoyed giving his granddaughter a Harley ride. He would do anything for Grandpas Little Angel, Hannah, and Daddys Girl Becky. He lived for deer hunting and hunting was a passion he shares with his family. He loved to sit in his shop and drink beer with all of his friends. Sheldon, Josh and Jesse loved to haul cars and farm equipment and cut up scrap iron. He was a wonderful father and grandfather.

Sheldon was a member of the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Plummer. He was also a member of the American Crystal Sugar Local Union.

Sheldon is survived by his wife Kristie, Brooks, MN; 3 children: Rebecca Hodgson, Terrebonne, MN; Jesse Hodgson, Brooks, MN; and Joshua Hodgson at home; 1 granddaughter Hannah Riendeau, his mother Eleanor Hodgson, Red Lake Falls, MN; 1 brother Bruce (special friend Glennis Winand), Fertile, MN; 2 sisters: Linda (Paul) Morken, Warren, MN; JoAnn (David) Winger, Cambridge, MN; 1 brother in law, Richard (Heidi) Audette, East Grand Forks, MN. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.

Sheldon was preceded in death by his father Leonard on February 6, 1994, his sister Beverly Audette on May 19, 2000 and a sister in infancy, Geraldine.
