Sherlen Grove, 81, of Brooks, MN, passed away on Saturday, July 3, 2021 at Fosston First Care Nursing Home in Fosston, MN.

A Graveside Service will be held at 10:00 AM on Friday, July 9, 2021 at St. Joseph's Catholic Cemetery in Brooks, MN, with Father Bob Schreiner presiding.

Sherlen Wayne Grove was born January 1, 1940 at 12:15 am in Crookston, MN, son of Nordean and Alice (Lindem) Grove.  He was baptized and confirmed into the Lutheran faith.  He attended school in Crookston, MN and then in Red Lake Falls, MN until the 8 ^th grade when he started working on his father's farm full-time.

On April 11, 1964 he married the love of his life, Evangeline Hince, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Brooks, MN.  They made their home in Brooks where they raised their six children.  Sherlen worked for the Soo Line Railroad for over 25 years.  After retiring from the railroad, he ran an autobody repair business out of his home with his sons, Rick and Darrin.  He worked for Hince Contruction with his brothers-in-law and nephew, Willard, Russell, and Shawn.  Sherlen loved spending time with family and friends, particularly in person, but was also known to spend hours visiting on the phone.

Sherlen is survived by children: Vicki (Danny Benoit) Grove of Thief River Falls, MN; Scott (Becky Boehrnsen) Grove of McIntosh, MN; Rick (Rachel Carlson) Grove of McIntosh, MN; Darrin (Penny) Grove of Oklee, MN; Tammy (Jody) Benedick of Thief River Falls, MN: son-in-law: Ralph Kimbro of Oklee, MN: 12 grandchildren: Michael, Corey, Ryan (Katie), Zachary (Casandra), Brady, Brenton (Samantha), Dustin (Nicole), April, Justin, Courtney (Nick), Brooke (Shane), Dylan (Anne): 22 great-grandchildren: Gavin, Lily, Tiana, Emma, Corey Jr., Elaina, Grayson, Macey, Sophia, Caleb, Mackenzie, Isaac, Spencer, Liam, Austin, Aubree, Addyson, Joshua, Robert, Mason, Xavier, Eviana.  Siblings: Gary Grove, Red Lake Falls, MN;  Darrell Grove, Red Lake Falls, MN, Don Grove, TX, Rodney (Diane) Grove, Red Lake Falls, MN and Cheryl (Russell) Hince, Brooks, MN along with several nieces and nephews.

Sherlen is preceded in death by wife, Evangeline on December 4, 2013; daughter, Renee Kimbro on June 2, 2020; parents; sister, Jean Carpenter; brother, Levonne Grove.  Father-in-law and mother-in-law: Ted and Lillian Hince.  Sisters-in-law, Mavis Grove and Delores (Kenneth) Burthwick.  Brothers-in-law, Willard (Shirley) Hince and Duane Hince.
