Sherri Pape of Thief River Falls, MN, passed away with her family by her side on Thursday, September 26, 2013 at the age of 53. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM, Monday, September 30, 2013 at Johnson Funeral Service in Thief River Falls, MN, with Pastor Troy Bates officiating. Burial will follow at Oak Grove Cemetery in Detroit Lakes, MN. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the funeral service on Monday at Johnson Funeral Service. Sherri Lynn (Haugen) Pape was born on June 5, 1960 in Fosston, MN, the daughter of Jerome Haugen and Grace (Thompson) Haugen Francis. She graduated from McIntosh/Winger High School in 1978. Following high school Sherri moved to Reno, NV for several years where she ran the day-to-day operations of Wee-Pac, Inc. During the course of her employment there she was able to enjoy travels to New Zealand and the Fiji Islands. Sherri was blessed with a daughter, Shannon in 1989. In 1990 Sherri and Dean, Shannon's father moved to Thief River Falls where they lived together until 2007. Sherri met Bill Evenson in 2008. They shared many wonderful years until her passing. Sherri was employed as a personal care attendant, supporting disabled people at their homes. Always wanting to help people, this occupation was perfect for Sherri's giving nature. Sherri enjoyed spending time around the camp fire while camping or in the backyard. She was a very outgoing and friendly woman who enjoyed visiting and meeting new people. Sherri loved her daily walk with their dog, Spike, where she met many new people along the way. She will be remembered as a generous and caring mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, niece, and friend. Sherri is survived by her daughter, Shannon Pape (Mikelalen Heaton) of Goodridge, MN; grandson, Kieler Heaton; fiancé, Bill Evenson of Thief River Falls, MN; brothers, Jerry Haugen of Hillsboro, ND, Larry Haugen of McIntosh, MN, Todd (Sue) Haugen of West Allis, WI, and Tony (Leslie) Haugen of McIntosh, MN; many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Preceding her in death are her parents, Jerome Haugen and Grace Francis and her husband, William Francis; uncles, Sid Thompson, Cliff Thompson, Melvin Haugen, Paul Dishman and aunt, Ruby Ostenna.
