Shirley M. Baune, Plummer, MN formerly of Kramer, ND, age 89, passed away peacefully on Monday July 23, 2018 at Oakland Park Communities, Thief River Falls, MN.

Visitation will be held from 4:00 PM until 6:00 PM with the funeral service to be held at 6:00 PM on Thursday, August 9, 2018 at Johnson Funeral Service in Thief River Falls, MN. Burial will be at 2:30 PM on Friday, August 10, 2018 at Oak Creek Cemetery, Bottineau, ND.

Shirley Mae Froseth was born November 7, 1928 at Bottineau, ND, the daughter of Albert and Anna (Moum) Froseth. She was baptized on December 16, 1928 at Trinity Lutheran Church, Landa, ND and confirmed on December 5, 1943 at Bloomfield Lutheran Church, Upham, ND. She attended Kramer High School in Kramer, ND, graduating in 1946.

On June 29, 1947, Shirley was united in marriage to Norman Leo Baune in Bottineau, ND. The couple were married for 67 ½ years before Norman passed away on February 20, 2015.

Shirley taught school the first year after her high school graduation and then married, which started her career of homemaker, wife and then mother.

She enjoyed reading, playing games, and in her younger years, she enjoyed crafts and bowling. She mostly enjoyed spending time with her family.

Shirley is survived by 6 children: Sharon (Daniel) Seibel, Robert Baune, Sandra (Michael) Greenwald, Byron (Richard Montgomery) Baune, James (Jan) Baune and Joyce (James) Carlson; 12 grandchildren: Laura (Jason) Lueder, Derick (Cassie) Seibel, Derin (Louise) Seibel, Kelley (Jarrod Larson) Baune, Cheryl (Jeremey) Schiele, Patricia (David) Glennon, Sheena (Adam) Buckhouse, Jenna (Jacob) Reese, Seth (Angela) Baune, Jason (Carolyn) Carlson, Justin (Kristen) Carlson and John (Krystal) Carlson; 20 great grandchildren: Dannielle, Davin, Owin, Landin, Jayden, Hannah, Rachel, Caleb, Lauren, Claire, Jack, Halle, Eleanor, Joseph, Judson, Jett, Lake, Beau, Mackenzie and Calvin; sister: Ann (Vernon) Seter and sisters-in-law: Emma Stroehl and Darlyne Froseth; and many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

She is preceded in death by her husband Norman, grandson Keith Robert Baune in 2002, sisters Ila Backman and Herdis Vikan and brothers Orthon, Ted, Al, James and Kent Froseth.
