Shirley Moser, Red Lake Falls, MN, age 78, passed away peacefully on Saturday, March 21, 2026 at Hillcrest Senior Living in Red Lake Falls, MN with her loving family by her side.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Red Lake Falls, MN 11:00 AM on Saturday, March 28, 2026, with Father Bob Schreiner Officiating. Burial will be held at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery in Brooks, MN.

Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the church.

Shirley Ann Moser was born June 12, 1947 in Roseau, MN, the daughter of Paul Walter and Jennie A. (Carlson) Hassel. She was baptized at St. Joseph Catholic Church when she joined the church. Shirley attended Warroad schools until moving to McIntosh her senior year and graduating in 1965. She also worked at the Nursing Home in McIntosh.

On June 26, 1965 Shirley married Eugene Moser at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Brooks, MN. From this union two children were born, Sandra Jean & Scott Anthony. They made their home in Red Lake Falls, MN, in 1965 and it has been home ever since. She stayed home with their children and had a home daycare until the kids started school. For the next four years she worked for Inter County Nursing as a home health aide. In August of 1976 she began working at Red Lake County Agency where she and Colleen Malwitz became partners & purchased the business in 1996. Shirley retired from Red Lake County Agency in the Spring 2014.

Shirley loved camping and fishing at Lake Of The Woods, gardening, painting, crafts, and spending as much time with her kids, grandkids, and great grandkids as she could.

She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Red Lake Falls, MN; also serving on the guild and sang in the choir. Shirley was a Eucharistic Minister, Catholic Daughters, and served on many Civic Communities and Boards.

Shirley is survived by her children, Sandra (Scott Durbin) Derosier, Red Lake Falls, MN, Scott (Janet) Moser, Red Lake Falls, MN; grandchildren, Aaron (Ashley) Derosier, Eric (Candra) Derosier, Alex (Rachel) Derosier, Mariah (Devin) Corneliusen, Madison (Blake) Erickson, Zachary (Jackie Rose) Moser, Joshua (Corinna) Moser, and Nicholas (Liz Hammond) Moser; great grandchildren, Lincoln, Emmett, Henry, Walker, Ariana, Ella, Calvin, Camille, Miles, Leo and James; baby Moser June 2026, baby Erickson July 2026; brother, Walter (Karen) Hassel, Roosevelt, MN; sister, Wanda (James) Westman, Newfolden, MN; brother, Clarence “Skip” Strom, Lake Bronson, MN; sisters-in-law Roseanne Budahl and Marilyn Moser; along with many nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Eugene; parents, Paul & Jennie Hassel; and sisters, Ann Marie Fox and MaryJo (Wayne) Knutson; In-laws Iva-Connie and Fredrick W. Moser; brother-in-law Fred (Kathy) Moser.
