OBITUARY FOR SHIRLEY RUUD
RED LAKE FALLS, MN
Shirley June (Efteland) Ruud, 74, died on Wednesday, January 16, 2002 at Northwest Medical Center in Thief River Falls, MN.

Funeral services will be 2:00 PM on Monday, January 21, 2002 at Zion Lutheran Church in Thief River Falls, MN with Reverend Dennis Raymond officiating. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery, Thief River Falls, MN.

Visitation will be from 5:00 until 8:00 PM on Sunday with a prayer service at 7:00 at the Green Funeral Home of Thief River Falls and on Monday one hour prior to the service in the church.

Shirley Norquist was born on June 26, 1927 in St. Paul, MN. She was the daughter of Victor August Perry and Esther Mabel (Moen) Norquist. She was baptized and confirmed at Redeemer Lutheran Church and attended school in Thief River Falls, graduating from Lincoln High School in 1945.

On March 15, 1947 she was united in marriage to Myles Julian Efteland. Myles died on December 24, 1966. In 1980 she married Roy Ruud in Gatzke where she live for a time. Shirley moved to Red Lake Falls in 1998 where she has since resided.

Shirley worked at Halls Floral for a few years, Hartz, Oakland Park Nursing Home, JC Pennys, Red Owl and owned and operated Nelson Grocery in Thief River Falls. She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church, VFW, Legion Auxiliary, Eagles and enjoyed knitting, quilting and bird watching.

Shirley is survived by her children Jon (Linda) Efteland of Knoxville, TN, Victoria (Robert) Guillemette of Red Lake Falls, Myles Jeffrey Efteland of Minneapolis, MN; grandchildren Eric, Melissa, Roberta, Nathan; great grandchildren Ethan, Natalie and Allison.

She was preceded in death by her parents and husbands Myles and Roy.
