Stanley F. Gibson, 79, passed away at home with his wife, Ione and his two grandsons, Jeremy and Justin Gibson by his side, Monday, September 12, 2005 in Thief River Falls, MN.

Stan Gibson was born August 11, 1926 to Fleming A. and Frieda E. (Weeks) Gibson at Backoo, ND. He was a member of Lincoln High School class of 1945. He received his veterans high school equivalent certificate in 1947.

He was united in marriage to Mary Jane Olson, January 2, 1949. Together they had four sons and two daughters. He was united in marriage to Ione Bratvold, December 26, 1981.

Stan entered the Navy in 1944 and was honorably discharged in 1946. He enlisted in the National Guard and was called to active duty in the Army and was honorably discharged in 1951.

He was a member of Zion Lutheran Church, American Legion and VFW of Thief River Falls, as well as the Planning Commission and Board of Realtors of Thief River Falls.

He worked at Hub clothing, commercial fishing in Alaska and owned and operated Stan Gibson Realty in Thief River Falls until he retired January 1, 2001. Stan loved to hunt, fish, snowmobile, water-ski, swim and the Fourth of July parties at the family farm. He especially loved spending time with wife, Ione and family at deer camp.

He is survived by wife, Ione; son, Robert (Shelly), Thief River Falls, MN; daughters, Judy (fianc, Michael Pay) Gibson, Snohomish, WA and Kristi (John) Leko, Rogers, MN; grandchildren, Jeremy and Justin Gibson, Kaylee and Brianna Hince, Chrysi and Amy (fianc, Matt Van Lith) Gibson, Ryan (Jennifer) Kronberger and Kelly (Mike) Babik; great grandchildren, Haley and Alyssa Kronberger and Jacob and Sydney Babik.

He was preceded in death by parents, Fleming and Frieda Gibson, three sons, Roger William, James Stanley and Kent John Gibson.
