Stanley Le Roy Larson was born on October 16, 1922 in Karlstad, MN, the son of Andrew and Hannah (Sjogren) Larson. He was baptized in the Lutheran faith, grew up and stayed on the Sjogren farm from 1936 to 1955, where he farmed with his brothers Arnold and Richard. They purchased the farm and Stanley continued farming, while his brothers were serving in World War II. Stanley joined Richard in Minneapolis, and started working for A.D.M., Armour and others until 1961. He married Sandra Garfve on December 31, 1958. They had two sons, Steven born in 1960 and Scott in 1963. The couple moved from St. Paul to Newfolden in 1961 to work at the Farmers Co-Op. After four years they moved to Red Lake Falls to work for D.M.H. Stanley stayed there for 18 years and retired to his forty acres in New Maine Township in 1984. He moved the old Sjogren house and the house is said to be the first frame home built in New Maine Township.
Stanley was a handy man and enjoyed deer hunting, fishing and playing horseshoes.
Stanley is survived by his sons: Steven (Joyce) Larson of Newfolden, MN and Scott Larson of Red Lake Falls, MN; five grandchildren, Hannah, Sadie, Molly, Jesse and Shyann; two great grandchildren, Colton and Keziah; sister, Shirley LeFrooth of Strandquist, MN; and many nieces and nephews.
