Stella Moen, 84, died Tuesday July 31, 2012 at Sanford Medical Center, Thief River Falls, MN Funeral service will be 11 AM, Saturday August 4, 2012 at First Lutheran Church, Middle River, MN with Reverend Bert Foster officiating. Burial will be at Spruce Valley Cemetery, Middle River. Visitation will be 5 - 8 PM, Friday August 3, 2012 at Johnson Funeral Service, Thief River Falls, with a 7 PM prayer service and for one hour prior to the service at the church Saturday. Stella Mae Lamb was born December 18, 1927 at Winner, MN, the daughter of Oliver and Edna (Morehouse) Lamb. She was raised in Winner and attended school there as well. She moved to Thief River Falls and worked at the Rex Café. On April 27, 1947, Stella was united in marriage to Stanley Orville Moen at Greenbush, MN. The couple lived near Newfolden, MN. In 1956, the couple moved to Big Sandy, MT and then moved to Ft. Benton, MT and finally to Havre, MT where they lived until 1982, when they moved back to Middle River where they have since resided. Stella was a member of First Lutheran Church, Middle River, a member of the VFW Auxiliary and the Red Hat Society. She enjoyed fishing, camping and canning. She was very family oriented, especially being the grand-leader neighborhood Mom and served in the neighborhood Humane Society. She is survived by children: Dolly (Elmer) Rasmussen, Middle River, MN, Ruby (special friend Allen Black) Moen, Middle River, MN, Arthur (Diane) Moen, Middle River, MN, Darlene (Delwin) Johnson, Middle River, MN and Wade Moen, Thief River Falls, MN; grandchildren: April Christine Craft, Kristin Ann Johnson and Lynn Johnson, Donna Lee Otto and John Daniel Otto, Stephanie Ann Rasmussen and Quenten Laurel Rasmussen, Christine Marie Moen and Justin Elmer Charles Moen, Jacob Allen Moen, Lyle Stanley Moen and Delwin Guy Johnson Jr; several great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews; brother and sisters: James Lamb, Sellah, WA, Irie Lamb, Harrison, AR, Mable Major, Bono, AR, Etta Erickson, Clementson, MN, Clara Felton, Hamilton, MT and Ruth (August) Otto, Lewistown, MT Stella is preceded in death by parents; husband Stanley Moen, daughter Judy Johnson, brothers Lester Lamb, Edward Lamb, Charlie Lamb, Leo Lamb, Theodore Lamb, Joseph Lamb, sisters Verdell (Lamb) Gudvangen, Minerva (Lamb) Nelson, and Loria Lamb.
