Steven Wegner of Thief River Falls, MN, age 65, passed away August 5, 2014 at his rural Thief River Falls, MN home with his loving wife at his side. Funeral service will be held on Saturday, August 9, 2014 at 6:30 PM at Epiphany Station in Thief River Falls, MN with Pastor Jeff Gauss Officiating. Burial will be held at Zion Lutheran Cemetery near Shelly, MN at a later date. Visitation will be held on Saturday 3:30 PM until 5:30 PM at Johnson Funeral Service in Thief River Falls, MN. Steven Lewis Wegner was born on April 16, 1949 in Fargo, ND the son of Stanley and Gladyce (Hoie) Wegner. He was baptized in Perley MN and confirmed in the Lutheran Faith in Shelly MN. Steven attended South High School, Minneapolis, MN, Shelly Public School, Shelly MN and was awarded a Technical Certificate in Auto Body, Fargo ND. Steven took Mary Wulff's hand in marriage on September 21, 1974 at Saint Kevin Catholic Church in Minneapolis, MN. To this union, Rebecca and Christine were born. Steven started his career as an Assistant Chef in Minneapolis and then he was an over the road truck driver for 20 years. For the last 20 years, he was a Small Business Owner of the Acorn Drive Inn. He enjoyed spending time fishing, shooting, and playing baseball. He also enjoyed drag racing, wrestling and bird watching. Steven is survived by his wife, Mary; children, Rebecca (John) Wilkinson and Christine (Ben) Litzinger; and grandchildren Anna Wilkinson, and Collin and Brady Litzinger and niece Kiana Meyer and step niece Jessica Meyer; nieces and nephews Jennifer Cary, Lauren Sayler, John Wulff, Lisa Wulff, Jeff Wulff. Brothers and sisters-in-law Ed (Christine) Wulff, Bill (Jean) Wulff and John (Sharon) Wulff. He is preceded in death by his Parents, Stanley and Gladyce; step father Richard Nygren and sister Kayla Meyer.
