Steven Ray Carlson, 62, Fertile, MN, died on Sunday, May 16, 2021, at his residence.  He was born February 24, 1959, to Bruce and Eleanor (Dahl) Carlson at Thief River Falls, MN.  Steven attended school in Karlstad, MN, and, after his schooling, he traveled around the United States for several years.  Due to his health, Steven was cared for in several communities in the Northwest Minnesota region.

As a youth, Steven was quiet and liked driving "Muscle Cars."  Fishing was a passion for him and, when he had a chance, Steven would go camping. He enjoyed watching the Minnesota Twins and Vikings.  Gardening kept Steven busy in the spring and summer months.

Steven is survived by his stepfather, James Halvorson, Karlstad, MN; brothers-Gary (Glenda), Karlstad, MN; Jerry, Thief River Falls, MN; Wayne, Red Lake Falls, MN; sisters- Linda Timchuk, Thief River Falls, MN; Diane Carlson, Viking, MN; and Cheryl (Norman) Olson, Thief River Falls, MN; Aunt Lorraine Mathieu, Thief River Falls, MN, Uncle Jerold Rux (Beverly) Strandquist, MN, and many nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by his parents, Bruce and Eleanor, uncle, Bill Mathieu, and a nephew, Troy Timchuk.

Graveside service will be at Karlstad Municipal Cemetery, Karlstad, MN, Ann Voth Officating Tuesday, June 1, 2021, at 1pm .
