Steven Spilde, 55, died Monday, June 19, 2006 at his home in Thief River Falls, MN of natural causes.

Memorial service will be held at Kingdom Hall, 2055 US Hwy 59 SE, Thief River Falls, MN, Saturday, July 1, 2006, 3:30 PM. Larry Mogen will preside. Lunch for family and friends will follow at the Heritage Center. Burial will be at Greenwood Cemetery.

Steven Preston Spilde was born July 10, 1950 in Greenbush, MN, the son of Joseph H. and Irma (Sang) Spilde. He was raised and attended school in Karlstad, MN and graduated in 1968 from Karlstad High School. During the summers, Steve worked for his father building Capp Homes. Following high school, he went to work at Northern Woodwork in Thief River Falls as a draftsman. He later went to work at Bridgemans where he loaded trucks early in the morning. Steve returned to Northern Woodwork as a draftsman and later in 1996 became part owner. He continued to work there until the time of his death.

Steve was baptized November 17, 1962 at International Falls, MN as one of Jehovahs Witnesses. He served loyally as an elder at the Kingdom Hall in Thief River Falls, MN. He enjoyed fishing, camping, snowmobiling, collecting memorabilia, and watching sports.

Steven is survived by a brother, Joel (Shirley) Spilde, Spokane, WA; 2 nieces, Sabrina (Ken) Herbel and their daughter, Mackenzie, Spokane, WA and Ursula (Jarrod) Hoener, Elk, WA; an uncle, Glen (Lela) Spilde, Halma, MN along with many cousins in both Washington and Minnesota.

He was preceded in death by his parents.
