Stuart Besserud, Thief River Falls, MN, passed away on July 29, 2021on arrival at Sanford Medical Center in Thief River Falls, MN.

Memorial service will be held on Friday, August 6, 2021 at 12:00 at Epiphany Station in Thief River Falls, MN with Pastor Pete Lee officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service on Friday.

Stuart Besserud was born November 24, 1958 at Crookston, MN, the son of John and Mavis (Erickson) Besserud.  He attended school and High School. He worked as a Journeyman carpenter for 9 years in Minneapolis, was employed at the Humane Society, and for Machine Well in Grygla, and at the US Post Office in Thief River Falls.

Stuart enjoyed being outdoors and spending time with nature, watching discovery channel.

He is survived by children: Wendy Jean (fiancé, Ryan Yahnke) Besserud of St. Louis Park, MN, Katie Zimba of Excelsior, MN and Jarod (Britenee) Besserud of Hermantown, MN; friend, confidante, and first wife, Donna Besserud; grandchildren: Justin David Besserud, Chase LaMond Besserud, Booboo, Dexter, Gilly, John James Besserud, Olivia Mae Besserud, Henry Francis Besserud, Michelle Mavis Besserud and Margaret Lynn Besserud, Ethel, Betty, Bandit; mother Mavis Besserud of Thief River Falls, MN; siblings Rhonda (John) Vigness of Thief River Falls, MN, Debbie (Mark) Bernhardson of Cloquet, MN and Steven Besserud of Thief River Falls, MN, Scott (Rhonda) Besserud of Thief River Falls, MN, Darsey (Todd) Lewis of Winger, MN, many nieces and nephews and great-nieces and nephews, aunts and uncles.

Stuart is preceded in death by his father John Besserud and his best friend and loving companion, Daisy Mae Besserud who passed on July 24, 2021.
