Suzanne Wolbeck, 63, died Saturday, November 24, 2007 at Altru Hospital in Grand Forks, ND.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 1:00 PM Thursday, November 29, 2007 at St. Bernards Catholic Church in Thief River Falls, MN with Monsignor Timothy McGee presiding. Burial will be held at Pine Grove Cemetery in Cass Lake at 2:00 PM Saturday, December 1, 2007.
Visitation will be at 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM with a 7:00 PM prayer service on Wednesday, November 28, 2007 at Johnson Funeral Service in Thief River Falls, MN. Visitation will also be held one hour prior to the funeral at church
Suzanne Madonna Schaak was born November 11, 1944 at Bemidji, MN, the daughter of Leo Peter and Irene Joan (Letendre) Schaak. She grew up and attended Elementary and High School at Cass Lake, MN and graduated from high school in 1962. She attended Bemidji State College and received her Bachelor of Science degree with a major in Physical Education in 1966, and a minor in health and recreation. During her college years she worked at Scout Camps and as a guide in the Boundary Waters Canoe area out of Ely, MN. She moved to Thief River Falls, MN in the fall of 1966 to begin her teaching career at Franklin Junior High School.
On June 13, 1970, Suzanne was united in marriage to John Wolbeck at St. Charles Catholic Church, Cass Lake, MN.
Sue was a member of St. Bernards Church and was active in the Foresters, a Bible study group and a Cursillo prayer group. For the past few years, she has been a volunteer at the Heritage Center in Thief River Falls. Sues greatest joy was the outdoors. She participated in canoeing, skating, swimming and camping. She also enjoyed baking and visiting with people.
Sue is survived by daughters, Heather and Alison Wolbeck; grandson, Bradan Wolbeck; uncle, Donald Letendre; aunt, Elsye McGuire; and many cousins and friends.
She was preceded in death by mother, Irene in 1996 and father, Leo in 1965; brother, Laurie in 1966; and grandparents, Joseph and Mary Letendre and Stephen and Mary Schaack; uncles, Lawrence and Leonard Letendre and aunts, Leona Fradet and Marie Tiny Letendre.
