Sydney Charles Hopkins, age 41, of Thief River Falls, Minnesota, passed away at his home on April 6, 2026, just a few days after celebrating his birthday.

Visitation will be held Friday April 17, 2026 from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Evangelical Free Church in Thief River Falls, MN.

Sydney was born on April 2, 1985, in Deschutes, South Dakota, to Julie Ann Hopkins. He was a proud member of the Rosebud Sioux Tribe of Rosebud, South Dakota, and carried deep respect for his heritage and family history throughout his life.

Sydney pursued his passion for aviation and mechanical work by attending St. Cloud Aviation School and the Aviation Program at Northland Community and Technical College. Over the years, he dedicated his skills and work ethic to several places, including The Shop in Thief River Falls, Sky Central at St. Cloud Airport, and Kennedy Transmission in St. Cloud.

On October 7, 2023, Sydney was united in marriage to Corrina Lynn Jacobs, with whom he shared a loving and meaningful life.

Sydney was a gifted and creative soul. He had a deep love for art, fishing, mechanical repair, and cooking, especially BBQing. He found happiness in simple pleasures—picnics, good food, and spending time with friends—and was known for his generosity, creativity, and willingness to help others.

He was a father to his daughter, Abigail Cordelia Hopkins, who was born on June 29, 2011, in Warroad, Minnesota, and whom he loved deeply.

Sydney is lovingly survived by his wife, Corrina Lynn Jacobs; and many extended family members and friends who will miss him greatly.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Julie Ann Hopkins; and his grandparents, Sydney Raymond Hopkins and Cordelia Brings Three Horses Hopkins.

Sydney’s memory will live on through the love he shared, the creativity he expressed, and the many lives he touched.
