Sylvester Hesse, 86, entered into rest, Thursday, October 28, 2004 at Northwest Medical Center, Thief River Falls, MN.

Sylvester George Hesse was born to George and Alma (Lothert) Hesse on November 21, 1917, in Norfolk Township, Renville County, MN. He was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran Faith. In 1920, the family moved to River Township, Red Lake County, where Sylvester grew up and farmed with his Dad and brother, Ivan. He retired in the early 1980s and moved to Plummer where he resided until his death.

Sylvester was a member of Redeemer Lutheran Church, Plummer, MN. He loved hunting, fishing trapping, gardening and horses. He helped his nephews when they needed a helping hand during harvest time and especially loved having his little nieces and nephews visit him.

Survived by 5 sisters, Helen Simpson, Harriet Norman and Doris Malwitz, all Plummer, MN, Eva (Erling) Lauritz, Seattle, WA and Marian Pearson, Kennewick, WA; 3 brothers, Floyd (Fern) Hesse and Ivan Hesse, all Red Lake Falls, MN and Melvin (Peggy) Hesse, Plummer, MN; sister-in-law, Loretta Hesse, Plummer, MN; god child, Diane Grinde, Elk River, MN; 29 nieces and nephews; special friend, Ariel Larson, Bagley, MN; fishing buddy, Clair Larson, Thief River Falls, MN and many other relatives and friends.

Preceded in death by parents; sisters, Myrtle Ahrens and Sarah Hanson; brother, Donald Hesse, Sr.; also 5 nieces and 1 nephew; brothers-in-law, Bill Simpson, James Norman, Kenneth Malwitz, Jack Pearson, Frank Ahrens and Nels Hanson.
