Sylvia A. Olson was born February 24, 1946 at Warren, MN, the daughter of Roy A. and Violet (Karr) Olson. She was baptized and confirmed at Black River Lutheran Church. She grew up and attended school at St. Hilaire, MN and Thief River Falls, MN, graduating from Crookston Agricultural School. She also received her LPN schooling and training at Thief River Falls Northland Technical School.
ON June 4, 1966, Sylvia was united in marriage to Leonard Rondorf. She worked at Arctic Cat for a short time and as a teachers aid for a couple of years. Sylvia was employed as a nurses aid for 20 years and she worked as a LPN for 11 years all in the Obstetrician department of Northwest Medical Center, Thief River Falls.
Sylvia enjoyed music, cooking, crocheting, hunting, fishing and dancing, especially the Polka. She liked to travel, garden, and mostly enjoyed life and helping people as well as taking care of exchange students.
She was a member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church, Thief River Falls, where she served as an elder, supervisor of the Adventist School, school volunteer at the church, Christian Womens and Minnesota Nurses Association. She was a 4-H leader and was awarded Homemaker of the Year in 1986.
Survived by husband, Leonard, Thief River Falls, MN; children, Tony (Heather), Dayton, OH and Stacy Miles, Thief River Falls, MN; 3 grandchildren, Cory, Tatyana and Trevor; 18 nieces and 24 nephews; mother, Violet Olson, Thief River Falls, MN; sisters, Barbara (Orville) Holt, Thief River Falls, MN and Carol (Darrell) Dodge, Barnesville, MN; brother, Alvin (Susan) Olson, Angus, MN.
Preceded in death by son, Craig, father, Roy, Brother, Roy, Jr. and several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.
