He was baptized at New Hope Lutheran Church in Newfolden, MN and confirmed at Nazareth Lutheran Church in Holt, MN. Taylor attended Viking and Newfolden Elementary Schools. In August of 2004, Taylor was diagnosed with Myelodysplastic Syndrome and received his first bone marrow transplant on September 15, 2004 which put him in remission for five years. He graduated from Marshall County Central High School in Newfolden in May 2009. During the summer of 2009 he worked at Hugo's for a short time and loved it! Taylor attended the Electronics Program at Northland Community College in Thief River Falls for a short period before his second bone marrow transplant on December 1, 2009. After a year of recovery, he attended the Automotive Program at Northland Community College which he thoroughly enjoyed until his heart attack on December 12, 2011. He then spent a year of recovery and rehab until he relapsed with MDS in December 2012. On October 5, 2013 he had open heart surgery at the University of Minnesota Hospital in Minneapolis. Throughout his life, Taylor received 70+ blood transfusions, 20 bone marrow biopsies, and 5 recorded strokes. Taylor spent most of his life trying to "Get Better" while maintaining a positive attitude. He was quoted as saying, "life is what you make of it!" Taylor loved to ride 4-wheelers and 3-wheelers and to work on them. He loved a challenge of getting something to run. He and his Mom would go almost daily on a ride in the woods or down to the gravel pit. He was very excited to have the ATV Ride in October but due to his health he could only participate for a few minutes. He could tell you if a wheeler wasn't running right just by listening to it as he lost most of his sight in the last month. Taylor also loved to play guitar but it became more difficult after his heart attack in 2011. His prized possession was his Gibson Les Paul that he was given during his first transplant in 2004 from the Make A Wish Foundation. He and Taran would spend time watching Big Bang Theory and playing Xbox. Taylor also enjoyed driving over to his brother Travis and wife Kelly's home to visit and eat pizza. He also enjoyed setting up trail cams in the woods and looking through them with his brother and sister to see if he could spot that "one" big Buck. He also loved to watch Travis in the area demolition derbies and had a blast competing in one himself. Taylor enjoyed times with his dad fishing, working on snowmobiles, and going to the cabin at Lake Plantagenet. He also enjoyed family vacations at Little Wolf Lake Resort. First and far most he LOVED spending time with his God-Daughter and niece Brynn Taylor Moen; eating cheese curds, fixing on her bicycle or going to the Dairy Queen.
