Teckla Willett, 79, died on Wednesday, March 19, 2008 at Oakland Park Communities in Thief River Falls, MN.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10:30 AM, Tuesday, March 25, 2008 at St. Josephs Catholic Church in Brooks, MN with Father Antony Fernando presiding. Burial will follow in St. Vincent de Paul Cemetery in Plummer, MN.

Visitation will be from 5-8 PM on Monday, March 24, 2008 at St. Josephs Catholic Church in Brooks with a Prayer Service at 7:00 PM on Monday. Visitation will also be for one hour prior to the funeral service at the church on Tuesday.

Teckla Mary Williams was born on January 15, 1929 to Kamiel and Helen (Kremers) Williams in Garnes Township, Red Lake County, MN. She was baptized and confirmed in the Catholic Faith. She grew up in Red Lake Falls, MN and attended country school. She graduated from Lafayette High School in Red Lake Falls in 1946.

Teckla moved to Beach, ND and worked as a waitress and pastry chef. She enjoyed living in the Badlands where she lived until 1948. She returned to Red Lake Falls and was united in marriage to Joseph Arnold Willett on June 17, 1948 in St. Josephs Catholic Church in Red Lake Falls, MN. They made their home in Plummer, MN. In 1958 they bought a farm outside of Plummer, MN.

Teckla worked at Grobergs Sewing in Oklee, then worked in the sewing department for Arctic Cat in Thief River Falls for a number of years. She also worked at the Plummer Liquor Store. Teckla entered Oakland Park in November of 1994 were she resided until her time of death.

Teckla enjoyed gardening, flowers, spending time with family, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. She was a member of the Plummer American Legion Auxiliary for 56 years. Teckla was active in the Multiple Sclerosis Society for many years.

Teckla is survived by her husband Joseph Willett, Plummer, MN, 8 children: James (Judy) Willett, Springfield, MO, Joyce (Carl) Magers, Spring Grove, MN, Elizabeth Hamilton, Bloomington, MN, Susan (Gary) LaCoursiere, Brooks, MN, Arnold Willett, Clearbrook, MN, Thomas (Rebecca) Willett, Plummer, MN, Daniel Willett, Plummer, MN, Douglas Willett, Red Lake Falls, MN, 19 grandchildren: Danette Heron, Jason Willett, Sarah Grinde, Kimberly Evans, Kevin Hamilton, Brian Hamilton, Lori LaCoursiere, Lucas LaCoursiere, Shannon Willett, Dustin Willett, Nicholas Willett, Tricia Willett, Todd Willett, Joshua Willett, Jeremiah Willett, Kyle Willett, Jessica Willett, Douglas Willett Jr., Lacey Willett, 16 great grandchildren: Amanda, Lindsey, and Logan McDaniels, Quinn Willett, Chase, Caden, and Tysen Grinde, Sean and Karissa Evans, Olivia Payne, Addison and Gavin Willett, Lincoln and Holden Willett, Nathan Willett, Mariah Kenfield, 1 brother Edward (Lori) Williams, Sauk Rapids, MN, 1 sister Marie Agnes Long, Sartel, MN, 2 sisters in law Jeannie Williams, Thief River Falls, MN, Rita LeMere, Augusta, WI, numerous nieces and nephews.

Teckla was preceded in death by her parents Kamiel and Helen Williams, brother Richard Williams, 1 brother in law Andrew Willett, sisters in law Monica Fallon, Marcella Toulouse, Connie Driscoll, Marietta Johanneck, Delores Carlson.
