Theresa Terry Blaine, 78, of Grygla, MN died Thursday, March 8, 2007 at Thief River Care Center, Thief River Falls, MN.

Funeral service will be 11:00 AM Monday, March 12, 2007, at Grace Lutheran Church, Grygla, MN with Rev. Mary Gilthvedt officiating. Burial will follow in St. Olaf Cemetery, Grygla, MN.

Visitation will be 2-5 Sunday, March 11, 2007, at Johnson Funeral Service, Thief River Falls, with a Prayer Service at 4:00 PM. Visitation will also be one hour prior to the funeral service at the church on Monday.

Theresa Terry Nesland was born February 6, 1929 at the hospital in Grygla, MN, the daughter of Mikkel and Gunda (Roysland) Nesland. She was baptized and confirmed in St. Olaf Lutheran Church and attended country school near Grygla, and high school in Goodridge, graduating from Goodridge High School. Terry moved to Minneapolis for a couple of years, working as a seamstress at Bemis Company and a mail order clerk at Sears. She moved back to Grygla and was united in marriage to Alvin Elmer Blaine on October 2, 1948 at the Grygla Parsonage. Terry worked as a clerk at the Grygla Co-op Store for many years and also for Marshall County Social Service as a Home Health Aide.

Terry loved to help her neighbors and friends, enjoyed making quilts for the church and loved gardening. She served as treasurer of Espelie Township.

She is survived by three children: Nancy (Ronnie) Byklum of Grygla, MN, Roger (Gwen) Blaine of Goodridge, MN and Holly (Tim) Betzen of Fertile, MN; six grandchildren: Sheila (Lorne) Olson, Deanna (Mike) Nordby, Karla Byklum, Brandon Blaine, Aaron Betzen and Alicia (Courtney) Moore; five great grandchildren: Kasey Nordby, Taylor and McKenna Blaine, and Neve and Tate Moore; one brother, Ole Nesland of Grygla, MN; two sisters: Tillie Askeland of Warroad, MN and Bunny DuChamp of Plummer, MN; like a sister , Jeanette Bucholz of Grand Forks, ND; special friend and caregiver, June Newhouse of Grygla, MN; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Alvin, in 1990; 2 granddaughters, Bridget and Baby Blaine; one great grandson, Skyler Nordby; three brothers: Torkel, Targie and Knute; and two sisters: Julie Clausen and Gertie Haugen.
